Yeah - we've got a screw up with a "name glitch" now - any player that I added when we started using the Reditor to edit this file is goofed up - if I didn't use a name in the database, all those names are being screwed with. This sucks, as I can't recall all of them, but those I'm catching are screwed up. I already recreated Buschini of the Padres. It's Silverio of the Marlins AAA team, Constante of the Reds AAA team, and Kobayashi of the Angels AAA team. I don't know how many more there might be, but it looks like an issue that crept up on NBA 2K (using the reditor - name glitch) has now shown up here. Outside of recreating all those players, this might be something we will have to live with. I'm open to suggestions - but will hold off before moving forward because this file now has me running in circles.

It happened a few files ago as I re-downloaded 3 of them - all of them had this problem already, I just never noticed it.

I looked for some of these players in the editor and it's really crazy. It's giving them some kind of weird oriental text.

I searched for Kobayashi and his last name is fine but his first looks like this 䈀甀猀挀栀椀渀椀. The other names you mention also have these weird oriental names show up either as their first or last names.

how good is the cpu logic? is it extremely wacky or not too shabby? I'm thinking about picking this game up today now that I've been reading a bit of this thread and the slider thread (thanks to yr post in nba2k13 sliders, mkharsh) and starting to get an itch for a baseball game (my last one is MLB 2k9). however, i'm a franchise/dynasty/off-line player mainly and terrible cpu logic can be a killer for me.

Do a search for the logic problem. I seem to remember some guys saying that if you either only sim one game at a time or possibly super sim then the lineups stay correct.

MK i'll do a search through the roster and then list the players with screwed up or missing names.

alright, thanks guys for the feedback. doesn't sound terrribly bad i guess. i went ahead and got it for a total of $19.50 (with tax). not bad. just downloaded the sliders and roster set that was up today. about to mess around with it.

Okay - I put a TON of time into this file today. It was an absolute MESS (and you can't begin to imagine). I wish I didn't care so much about this stuff... LOL!

Anyway, I had to recreate about 10 new players. And for all I know there is more screwups created, but I tried to over this file repeatedly. There is a definite glitch in it now due to the edits from the Reditor.

There's one player with an incorrect name: Mark Sobolewski, Twins AAA, (will show up as Sobolewsk - it's as good as I can get it.). Adam Buschini (Padres AAA) and Sobolewski's name (I'm sure 2 of your household names) were screwing up. Fix those, and I get a glitch for Alfredo Silverio (Marlins AAA). Then Albert Almora (Cubs - AA) glitched. I had to recreate Kobayashi (Angels AAA) as well as Jacob Constante (Reds AA) as well. It appears, and I'm guessing here, that any created name that ends with a VOWEL creates an issue. I even had Buschini's name show up with a picture of a box as for the letter "B" in his last name. Really weird...

So I hope this all makes sense... I've also fixed the Cardinals pitching staff with the news that Carpenter is likely to miss all of 2013. And the Giants signed a pitcher today and there major league team has been adjusted. A couple other minor league signings already today. I'll hold off on posting it - I want to go over it again. I fear that one domino effects another, and since I've almost been memorizing this file as I create it, I can at least try and get a feel for what other mistakes might be out there. I'm hoping this is the end of it... I think the ONLY way to fix things 100% is to go back to an old file from 2 weeks ago - but I HATE the thought of that, and if you guys can live with the name glitch (which is minimal) then we're good. You'll note some guys in the FA list named "Sobolewsk" - there's nothing I can do about that. I tried to lower those players' ratings very low so don't sign them if you can avoid it in a Franchise.

I also appreciate TVman looking over the file as well - we'll just see what he finds, and hopefully it's the same as I found as well.

It's weird - I'm not seeing any symbols like you are. I already fixed Buxton (forgot to mention him - somehow he became a duplicate player). And all the other players you listed are what I already fixed - so at least it appears the worst is behind us (fingers crossed).

So the good news is I just need to look at Prince on Milwaukee's roster. Thanks a bunch for going over this!!!

I guess try and load it and if doesn't then rehash resign with modio. I think anyone who is using these rosters should just d/l it and keep a shortcut handy.

Im setting up a franchise now with the rosters on the first page. Does it matter what sliders are for simming. I'm using the original mk sliders on the first page. I will have some results tonight.

Basic Settings for this franchise
1 user team: red sox
Mkharsh's original sliders
1st page rosters
162 games
Edit CPU rosters: on (in case of emergency)
CPU trading: off
NO fatigue or injuries.
CPU task automation on for every catorgoriey, including MLB

Alright after setting up this franchise i simmed spring training. Checked every single team in the game including AAA, AA, and A, and all of the FA. The only problems in the roster itself is the 4 players
Jacob P Reds AAA
Mark 3B Twins AA
Byron CF Twins AAA
Adam 2B Padres AA
These guys only had their first name. every other player was perfect. All players had 25 Ant.
If these 4 guys are fixed, then it looks ready pending other moves in the little bit of offseason we have left (yeah!)

P.S. are the players without last names the same for everyone or is a glitch changing different guys for different xboxs?

I simmed through the draft as well. None of the rosters seemed to have any problems with the addition of drafted players.

Only problem i have is that all transactions made this offseason have a 1 year deal which is annoying to have to resign dempster, gomes, victorino again

No one retired that was in their twenties or early 30s so thats a plus.
