(Note: I also updated my sliders - not for the faint of heart, but I've had some incredibly realistic games with them. Great players will play great, and if you're not patient at the plate you'll struggle. Move the pitches around and changes speeds and locations - and pitch OUTSIDE of the zone and you'll still strike guys out, even with the cpu hitting contact at 100.)STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

You can share that file here. I'm sure jmc won't mind. Are you using the latest file where jmc updated the minor league affiliates, and then using the work that I did on this latest file? Just curious - it would be fun to have your additions, but I would only use your file if it's updated from the work I added because I put a LOT of hours into this. Thanks!!

Yeah - page 1 is always updated. I provided a slight update today based upon some stuff I was seeing. Baseball is a hard deal to create sliders for because of all the variances of the game. Again, I wish 2K would add those additional numbers between 0-5-10 so we could really make the game come to life.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Again, I wish 2K would add those additional numbers between 0-5-10 so we could really make the game come to life.
Hum Contact - range (5-30) - roll = 2, therefore slider = 10
Hum power - (45-70) - roll = 4, slider 60
Cpu contact - (70-95) - roll = 2, slider 75
Cpu power - (70-95) - roll = 4, slider 85
Hum control - (15-40) - roll=5, slider 35
Hum composure (0-50, 10 point increments) roll=3, slider 20
Cpu strike zone tendency (15-40) - roll 5, slider 35
Cpu composure (0-50) - roll =1, slider 0
Hum gather error (40-65) roll = 5, slider 60
Hum throw error (40-65) roll 3, slider 50
Cpu gather error (40-65) roll 6, slider 65
Cpu throw error (40-65) roll 6, slider 65
Those were my actual dice rolls as I was typing this up. This could possibly add some difference in feel from game to game? Most of these values are a plus or minus 2 or 3 from your slider set Mike.
Thoughts anybody?

You can say that again! I can't compete on that level. One of my biggest problems is being patient at the plate. Also, the Cpu offense is beast.
They are a great base to work from though. All of the work done getting running and throw speeds in line is amazing. Adjusting the contact and power to your liking is easy enough.

pitch outside the zone. be patient at the plate. look for your pitch (ie. down the middle) and just foul off ones you can't hit. I wouldn't try to hit for power once you have 2 strikes on you unless you have a monster power guy up. move pitches around and pitch outside the zone. try to get ahead in the count. it's like real mlb baseball - yes, these are tough but i've played 2 games today in which I won 8-6 and lost 1-0. good variety. tense games. but much fun!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Hey guys,
I just have a question on some of the gameplay. I'm wondering if any of you have noticed some of the weird things that happen with the computer infielders and outfielders. In the infield sometimes an infielder will chase after a baserunner when he has no chance of tagging him and then when he finally throws to first it's way too late. Sometimes they'll hesitate to throw to second to start what should've been a tailor-made dp. Or they'll miss stepping on second base, hesitate and then throw late to first. In the outfield, the main thing I've seen is cutoff men hesitating to take the relay and fire to home or one of the other bases.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? Perhaps adjusting gameplay sliders or some of the player ratings? I read in some of the earlier posts that the roster update may address some of these things like the catcher passed balls with awareness and acceleration. Any advice is much appreciated. Not much you can do about it. That is all hard coded into the game. I see very little of the missing bases and chasing after runners, if any at all.
However, the ai cutoff glitch that is there I find to be more of a calculation than a glitch. The ai will only make a throw if there is the possibility of a play.
If they get the cutoff and calculate that their throw speed will not get the ball home before the runner's run speed gets them there, they will hold. I think there is a window that they will throw but it is very small.
At this point, enjoy it most for the pitching/hitting mechanic which is second to none. The occasional glitches that arise on the field at this point are what they are.
What slider set are you using? And, you are using this roster right?Comment
