Last night I worked on it for another couple hours. I have updated more NRI signings and completed the latest trades. Also worked on some more player edits as I'm trying to gauge some 2018 projections provided by baseball-reference and various baseball blogs. If anything, this file is LIGHT YEARS ahead of where we've been in the past, simply because a handful of guys here have done an awesome job of keeping it updated.

I will keep updating the file and then upload it here in a couple days. If you guys could be patient, that would be idea. I have already written GMAB8 and provided him my # so he could text me - which is the fastest way to communicate because I'm not always logged into operationsports. If anyone wants to PM me, I can provide that # so we can communicate.

    Thanks again guys! Mike
I was just asking if you remember the name of any players or teams you updated because it would be easier for me to copy and paste your changes over to file I've been working on.

I have a well edited Tigers team, all 30 prospects and added Ryan Carpenter as well. JMC if you need help on Player Creation i can always help out! Just throwing that out there....

Is there any way around it?
If it's glitching on you that means that there's some type of an edit where you have more than one player using the same number or player ID so you might have to find a better roster because one that has been refined will work and any that has any glitches will freeze upon the start of my player

Do you happen to know of anything else that would cause it to freeze at initialization of MyPlayer? I went through the latest roster and fixed 40 players that had duplicate glob_ID to other players/create a player slots.

The only duplicates left were players that are on the all-star team and also in the regular roster.

Has any roster since this mass editing ever worked in my Player mode? I'm not too worried, I don't use the roster for that mode personally.

Forgot how much fun it was to play 2K13. Kudos to those who have worked on updating the rosters over the years. A part of me wishes 2K was able to make another baseball game for this generation of consoles. I would definitely purchase a copy.

Editing names in the game will also cause glitches. All name or player editing has to be done in Reditor only ratings changes will work in game.

I plan on taking the new JMC file and setting it to the show ratings completely. Id like to see how the team ratings overlap.

That's what I thought. I know in the past I used to change the names in game. Now I just edit the player ratings and make name and appearance changes in Reditor.

Looking forward to seeing those ratings transfer over!

The file released at seasons end was pretty solid in that deparment. I havent spoken with JMC , but my initial thought was to whip it up to date so any future ratings adjustments durring the season will be easier to edit. That is my personal conquest this season. That and polishing up some CF. Matt boyd needs a beard! 😂😂😂

Ok, I did a quick duplicate check for that 2017 final roster. There are 6 duplicate players besides the all-star game rostered players in game. Here is a list with their global ID and the players that are duplicates.

                    542 McNeil, Hernandez
                    562 Trevino, Gurriel
                    1010 Stumpf, Brault
                    2611 Call, Harris
                    3927 Olson, Puig
                    9513 T.Rogers, J.Rogers

Those need to be changed to id# not used up in the 9260+ check with the tutorial or JMC to confirm but that will fix the glitch in my player.

I want to also be clear that when JMC drops his file, then i will go in and update it to offical show ratings for last year on all players applicable. Then if the community is cool we can have an "Official" roster JMC's release and a "Fan rated" version from Mkharsh. I think people will enjoy both one for franchise and one for Play now.

Im already trying to figure out how to construct a decent team with all this youth in the Tigers organization this year.

Yep, I went through and fixed 40 duplicates in the recent one mkharsh put out and it still didn't work in my player. I am going to try it out with the 2017final.ros after I change those 6 to see if there is some other issue. It's not that big of deal to me. But, it would be nice if it worked in my player as well.

That's a great idea, putting two roster files out. I'm interested to see how the ratings transfer over from the show to 2k13. Sometimes rating initialize animations or have set highs and lows that keep the game in balance.

Good stuff, and good luck with those Tigers! I have my hands full with the M's!

The only thing is some of the ratings such as L or R con or hr might be slightly off so I've came to two options, matching the usuable attributes and rolling with the ovr or adjusting slightly to get proper ovr.

That debate is open for discussion......

                            Re: MLB 2K18??

I've had a few private messages regarding the ratings (that you're speaking of above). First off, this file is from last season's ending file. If you recall, there was a time here when people were NOT working on the file so it sat dormant for quite a few weeks. It would take a LOT of people to develop an all-encompassing file that includes updated statistical data on EVERY player for EVERY team, down to all the nuances of each piece of data that translates into every player - not only for them individually or their respective team, but how that fits into the entire MLB league leaders. So yes, there will be NUMEROUS mistakes made because we simply don't have the dedicated man-power here to pull this off. Also, each one here has a FAVORITE team in which you know more about them because of your dedicated fandom. That ALSO means that sometimes we can be BIASED... We want to see our favorite team have solid updates, but I've learned over the years of doing this that many get offended when you don't put as much time into THEIR team - and this creates angst and even finger pointing. Lastly, you have to decide in a video sports game WHAT IT IS you're aiming for... Do you want an OVERALL RATING that strives to hit a number that looks correct -OR- do you want a player to play to his strengths and weaknesses, realizing the "overall" rating might not look as good as one wants it to. For example, you want "Player A" to have an overall rating of say, 87... BUT, the problem is Player A, who (for example) might be a left handed hitter. He might mash righties, BUT the numbers dictated he hits lefties below the Mendoza Line... So what do we do??? Do we force a guy to play better than he should, simply because of the final numbers he put out - and therefore he should fit into the bigger context of a higher overall rating -OR- do you accept the fact that you simply cannot get him to an overall of the aforementioned "87" - and that you have to live with the fact that he's rating an 84 instead BUT he will play true-to-life when it comes to how he SHOULD perform within the game...

These are the things I've battled with over the years having worked on both MLB rosters and NBA historical files. You don't make everyone happy, but rather you instead end up offending a lot of people.

Also, the file I worked on - I did NOT touch any of the players who are rated above ONE STAR. So I sense some people might want to put some blame on me for a file that can't be used for the My Player (or season mode? - I'm not sure). I've known for years that once the computer editing tool was used that I could not touch a player that was not rated more than one star. So I'm sorry the file is basically useless beyond "play now" games, but I was only working from a previous file that had been edited (I believe) by multiple people. So my apologies for this, and as stated (possibly in a different thread), I will absolve myself from this project and let you guys here do this without my help. Please know that is not an attention seeking thing or my desire for pity - just the opposite. I do not have the computer editing tool, so it would be wise if I bowed out and let you other guys take the file from here. I did put a ton of time into creating the missing players that I added and did a TON of ratings edits - but I'll just use it for my personal enjoyment and you guys can carry on.

Thanks for reading this, and know that I'm not upset - just wanted to clarify my thoughts on this. At the end of the day it's a roster file for a video game, and for our enjoyment. We're not curing cancer here. I'll finish typing this out and feel good. Thanks guys!

Thanks for reading this, and know that I'm not upset - just wanted to clarify my thoughts on this. At the end of the day it's a roster file for a video game, and for our enjoyment. We're not curing cancer here. I'll finish typing this out and feel good. Thanks guys!
mkharsh33 is not at fault for my player mode not working. It has to do with my handling of removing retired players from the free agents list, if I can find a way to fix it I will try my best to come up with a solution. The duplicate global ID's can be fixed, please post any duplicate numbers you find.

                                Re: MLB 2K18??

These new roster edits that have been developed over time here - where the speed of each of the individual players are toned way down - has made this 2018 version of this game quite possibly the funnest baseball video game i've ever played. I still see some head scratcher decisions and animations (like when the outfielder decides to look over his shoulder and face the outfield wall for a brief moment) - but this is a slick playing game.

i'm working on a new set of sliders for this year that I'm VERY close on. they are challenging, yet fair. They make you think about the matchups when you pitch, and if you're patient at the plate you'll be rewarded over the course of the game. i'll post those in the near future.

for those using the roster file i've worked on, even though i'm aware of the issues that have been discussed here, i'm still updating it (a hobby of mine and a break from reality for me - and because I LOVE baseball!). it plays very fun for exhibition/play now games. it also give you the option to bring up a player as i'm working on the transactions still, keeping them updated. i'm reading various sources and updating player edits as i learn stuff. it will be in the other thread i created for those interested in using it - i'll have a new file in the near future - version 2.

thanks for all the great work being done here!
