Re: BIGFNJOE'S 2K7 Pure Realism Zone Pitching/Swing Stick Sliders

The second game against the Yankees it seemed really good.
The first game I played I swung at everything, it was the first game I played with the swing stick in a long time.
It was also the first game I ever played with zone pitching and I loved it! It is really cool to make the perfect pitch to strike someone out while using zone pitching. With Payoff pitching it is way too easy to throw the ball exactly where you want.
The one thing that may need work is I thought the cpu took too many pitches that where right done the middle. And the cpu swings and misses too much. I may be thinking this because I am just not use to seeing the cpu strickout at all. It just seemed like the Yankees struck out alot by swinging and missing, in reality they only struck out 9 or 11 times I can not remember.

I tried them for the first time last night and got 2 totally different games with them.
The first game I played as the Angels vs the Mariners and won 2-0. I hit 2 solo shots with Vlad and shut out the cpu. The cpu did manage 8 hits to my 4 and I struck out the cpu 11 times.
Game 2 I was the Mets vs the Yankees and won 12-7. I only hit 1 hr but did get 21 hits. The Yanks hit 4 hrs and had 12 hits and I struck them out 9 times.
21 hits is a bit much, but then again, this is the game of baseball and if it has not happened yet, it will. A really good slider set should give a variety of games, both close pitching duels, and blowout hitfests.

Been busy Dstreet. Also with all the other slider sets out there I've been a little lazy.. I will be updating my sliders hopefully over the weekend. Do you have feedback for me on what your games are looking like if your using these?

Well, I think your sliders have been pretty good, they always have been since I have been using your sliders since 2k5 and been having an awesome time with them as well. With these particular sliders I have been playing great against bad teams as I expect to and against the top teams I'm getting my @ss handed to me. So I think they are pretty realistic so far. The only tweak I would make is for the AI controlled aces to dominate a bit more. I faced Johan Santana and was able to have him out of the game by the top of the 4th inning, don't remember the score but it definitely was not good.

I've play 5-6 games with these sliders, so far they've been fantastic. Thanks.
The only problem I have had with them is locating pitches and strikeouts, which is probably due to me being unfamiliar with zone pitching. Which leads me to a my two questions...

I think I get the gist with the zone pitching, but just to be clear you try to shrink the outter circle to the inner one, and then stop the two circles running across and up and down at the same point, correct? Also, is there any way to get more foul balls?

These are a great base set. Good job. I am using classic hitting though just out of preference but pretty much the same settings.

I love the zone pitching. Also I play that I don't waive off the catcher. It leads to a reasonable amount of walks.

                  I walked 5 twins in a 7-5 loss.

                  Good stuff.

Had a great game with these sliders with Nationals vs. Braves (me).

Came down to the 10th inning and Zimmerman hit a 3-Run Blast off of me. I head into the 10th and my team catches fire and gets 3 runs in with hit after hit.

5-4, 2 Outs and Chipper Jones comes up. 1-1 count and he lines a single into right down the line. Escobar and Kotchman score and I get the win 6-5.
