Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

These sliders are pretty good. They definantly give the game a more realistic feel and I want to thank you for putting in the effort to make these and share them with the community. I know how much work it takes and I truly appreciate it.

I am getting shelled by the CPU hitting and I was wondering what sliders you suggest I adjust first? AI skill, AI contact or power? Maybe I should just reduce it all across the board?

I find the 0, 40, 100 to be a great combination for CPU Hitting.

With all due respect fella, id put that down to some not so good pitching then, because ive just played 4 games with these sliders and only given up 1 homer, and im no pitching genius, just pick my spots well.

Besides, 5 games isnt a big enough sample size, 20 is more realistic.

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

I was getting some really good games with slightly modified versions of these sliders. The only part that was missing was runs by the AI. They got plenty of hits, just not strung together and not run scoring non-home-run power hits. I played around with their power numbers some but finding the sweet spot with good power without making it a home-run derby was tough. Small changes tipped it one way or the other.

I really liked the traditional pitching mode, so I resisted trying the zone modes out. Finally gave in and that has made a big difference for me. I'm still giving up around the same amount of hits but the AI is scoring with those hits and not just by home-run. I still get the correct amount of strike-outs and my walks are closer to what they should be.

Easier to make mistake pitches. I had never thrown a meat pitch until switching modes even with the pitcher interface at 100, now I throw 1 - 3 a game. And they aren't automatic home-runs. Mistakes(meat or missed spots) high and inside have a chance of leaving the park but in the proper situations. Mistakes low or away have a good chance of hitting the gap for extra bases or at least moving a runner up. And I actually make real mistake pitches.

I have been shelled and I have shutdown the other team since switching, with a whole lot of in between. My pitching "house rules" have all but gone away for now. So if you are getting close but can't find the scoring vs home-run derby balance for the AI you might want to give this a try. I didn't think I would like it but the results have made it grow on me. The pitcher interface definitely had to come down from 100 but that leaves me more room to adjust when I start getting the speed down.

Edit: Almost forgot this part. I am seeing the AI hit a lot more foul balls since switching too. Guess I am putting pitches into a larger variety of spots. Another plus for feeling more and more like a real game.

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

Guys, I've had to make some changes to the set. The batter influence was way too high at 100. I tried it there as a test but I am much happier with it at 35. Also, I have made a major switch which has improved the AI pitching a whole lot. I just recieved my first four-pitch walk in my Devil Rays franchise, and also have seen multiple 3-0 strikes NOT down the middle of the plate. The switch came in moving AI CORNER down to 25. To compensate, the AI throw strike sliders have been adjusted slightly. I have finally been able to reach a realistic human walk total with these changes. In 7 games, I've walked 23 times, finally approaching that 3-4 walk/game average in MLB.

Again, this is a very difficult set to play with, so make sure you are an MLB2K7 veteran before you dive in.

I'd say leave the CPU Contact/Power at 45/50. Messing with that switches the balance of the CPU hitting. I wou say turn down the AI SKILL slider from 100. Try 80 or 60 or even lower in you need and just move it up incrementaly as you see fit. Good luck!

Zone pitching is definately the way to go. The AI makes you pay in those middle innings if you leave one hang.

Bravo on the latest update, the sliders are "Perfect" IMO.

Game I just completed, my A's at Texas..........took a 6-1 lead into the 9th, and then...........BAM, 4 straight base hits, and then a walk-off GRAND SLAM to lose 7-6.

I just played an awesome 10 inning game with a slight variation to these sliders. I use the swing stick for hitting, FYI

Me (Whitesox) 4 runs, 8 hits, 2 homeruns, 4 strikeouts
CPU (Cubs) 3 runs, 8 hits, 0 homeruns, 8 strikeouts

One thing of a note is that I had three 3-0 counts on me and the CPU threw it right down the middle each time. However, I have a house rule similar to Highheat's where I wont actuall swing at the pitch until there's atleast one strike in the count. On all 3 occassions I just let the 3-0 pitch go by !! Maybe this was a fluke based on your new sliders but I though I should point it out. Nice job on the sliders

The down the middle thing is an annoying normality. No one has found a fix for it yet, and I don't think anyone will.

Ya I still use Payoff pitching. Just haven't been able to get into Zone pitching, as the whole locating of the moving cursor just doesn't do it for me. The whole concept isn't very baseball-like to me.
