It did the same for me. After playing 50+ games using payoff, I tried zone last night, and the Pirates put up 7 and 5 runs against me in 2 games. It is much harder to hit spots, and I eneded up giving up 4 bombs in one of the games.

Yup, now it's so much tougher to be fine with the baseball.And it's much easier to "miss in the strike zone".

I have done everything possible to try to get the CPU to score and get hits. Adjusted sliders so many times. It seems hopeless though.

Sorry, but the cpu can hit. You need to work the right sliders. I've had games where I gave up 12 runs with a pitcher that pitched shutout ball his prior start.

Raise CPU con/pow
Use zone pitching
raise the pitch mod slider
raise the AI skill

If you go xtreme on these, you will get rocked!

People have underestimated this game....I've had games where I simply was so behind, I simmed to the end. MVP nor MLB has the CPU hit as well.

Yes, there will be streaks where you win 4 in a row quite easily. But the good teams will have you quickly adjusting the sliders back in your favor to avoid embarrasement! Find the right balance. Personally, I'm going to use certain sliders as my flexible sliders.

I'm convinced, this game is so more intricate than others, that sliders are not to be static, they are dynamic. Oh...on second thought, they give us this option.
