The batters influence slider changes the hit variety, and rolling the stick isn't as useful because of it. Hit variety is a complete 180, even with the SS. If you check a lot of sliders, they have the batters influence at "0" or a bit higher. It changes the hit variety since the slider is more relient on the batters Inside Edge reports. When you check a batters profile, you'll see that IE has statistics for ball placements, and the slider will take that factor into consideration, which is why it completely changes hit variety. I've seen the CPU foul 3 balls in a row, which I believe is a new record.

I get all kinds of ball placements just pulling and releasing.

Yes, I saw the same thing last night.

I'm 0-3 with the Mets with these sliders. I was poised to come back in the second game, two men on, down 2-1, when they called the game due to rain. Infuriating.

I have to work on limiting CPU homeruns. I don't think the settings are bad... I've just left a couple over the plate.

Re: Sleepy's Finalized RealSim Sliders for SwingStick/Zone Interface

Well, I played five half-innings (just clicked Restart in Exhibition games) and saw way too many balls still hit up the middle w. the swing stick. I guess I'm too ******** to roll the swing stick or whatever but it feels very clumsy to me when I try and do that.

But the good news is that switched back to Classic hitting, lowered the pitch speed to 50 and the pitch interface speed to 75 and played two games against the Tigers with the Yanks and had the two best games I've had yet in 2k7. I lost 3-2 and won 4-1.

These are pretty damn good, whether you use swing stick or not. I think using Zone pitching is the only real requirement.

i get good games using payoff but i jack up the interfac speed and dont use break pitch feedback or strike zone.

Re: Sleepy's Finalized RealSim Sliders for SwingStick/Zone Interface

I don't roll the swing stick, I just concentrate on timing. Hit variety's been okay. Smoked one down the line past the first baseman last night, also hit a double into the gap, but yes, most of my hits are up the middle.

Played a very fun game last night, Mets vs. Braves, won 3-2. Went up early, 3-0, then someone went deep off me on a slider that I thought was a really good pitch, just below the knees, but taken out for a two-run homer. Couldn't get anything going the rest of the game, and just tried to hold on for dear life. I threw three meatballs that I was SURE were going to be the end of me, but they couldn't capitalize. There's nothing like throwing a meatball and closing your eyes in terror, only to have them whiff. Now, that would suck if that were always the case, but what I like about this set is you've got hitters beating you on good pitches as well... very unpredictable games with good box scores. I finished with eight hits, no homers, the Braves had seven hits, one homer.

Re: Sleepy's Finalized RealSim Sliders for SwingStick/Zone Interface

I just can't get any hit variation using swing stick. I'm trying these sliders with the batter influence up to 100 and the contact and power really low, and probably 75% of my hits up are up the middle as either hard hit groundballs or liners. Through 8 or 9 games I haven't hit a single ball down the line or anything into the corner, nor have I seen a groundball make its way between the first and second baseman, or between third and short.

I was thinking about lowering my infielder's speed sliders down a little to perhaps get more grounders through, or the rare shot down the line, but I'm afraid I'm just going to have too many hits as I'm still going to get a lot of stuff right up the middle.

I've also tried the 100 contact, low power ideas as well w/o much luck.

Could someone break down the step influence slider for me? I've got it relatively low b/c I assumed the higher it was the more precise your step had to be, and I'm still striking out just a tad too much so I didn't want to make it harder to make contact.

Also, when I try to roll the stick left/right depending on the location of the pitch, the majority of the time I simply foul the ball off (a nice change), but it doesn't seem to add much to hit variety. Am I missing something? Are people really getting line drives to the corners and grounders between the infielders? I never seem to really pull (or go the other way) anything. I also check the replay a lot and see the ball going straight through the bat when the timing isn't perfect. If those balls that went straight through the bat made contact, it looks like they would be the pull/push I'm looking for.

I'm loving the game besides this pretty big issue. I enjoy the swing stick but I'm afraid I might have to go back to simply hitting "a" to try and get some stuff that's not just up the middle.

Re: Sleepy's Finalized RealSim Sliders for StwingStick/Zone Interface

i dunno, maybe you should fiddle with the pitch speed or something. I am not getting this with these sliders at all. I do however get alot up the middle online. Try pushing the swing stick slightly to the right or left. I mean technically this isnt a power swing since its set to zero????lol

The game is designed to use the power swing as well. The power swing is actually considered an "uppercut" swing, which is used to influence fly balls.

                          thanks

Yeah, me too. My disc broke almost 2 months ago and I'm starting to really miss 2k7. I was having a really good time with this slider set you've got here. Maybe I'll pick it up or ebay or trade something in for it.
