Dude great job with these. I have the Phillies in a franchise and the hits Ive been getting are great. Hrs, bloops, liners down the line. They are all there. My only concern is the fact that I threw a no hitter with Cole Hamels on opening day against the Nationals. What do I do for more of a challenge when im on the field? Also is there a way that I can make this slider set my default sliders in the main menu so I dont have to do it all over again in the franchise settings menu when I start another franchise?

Re: DanSF49's "The MLB Experience" Sliders
I wouldn't touch the pitch speed. If you are having trouble turn down the step influence. You'll see a big difference with that. Try turning the step influence down 10 or so clicks a game until it feels right. You could also turn the batting influence down a little, but IMHO I'd start with step influence.Comment

Re: DanSF49's "The MLB Experience" Sliders
Any ideas on how I can make the offense a little bit more competitive? I threw a no - hitter first game and have won 10 straight with the phillies. I havent allowed any more than 2 runs in that stretch.Comment

When I'm done inputing the values for the sliders... are they suppose to end up custom-p or whatever it is? Is that the way its suppose to be?Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: DanSF49's "The MLB Experience" Sliders
Just have to say these are the BEST sliders around for MLB 2k8. Before I was having weird games where the clubs would combine for 6 hits and 3 runs.... now I'm having a variety of scores. Just finished up an exhibition game vs Arizona, here's the stats:
Brandon Webb (ARZ): 5 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 K on 97 pitches
Joel Pineiro (STL): 6 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 1 K on 83 pitches
By the looks of it, you'd think I got blown out.... well, you'd be wrong.
After trailing 5-0, I finally got a run off Webb with a Rick Ankiel base hit, scoring the man on second and ultimately chasing the sinker-baller (which he used A LOT!). He had walked one in the inning and his pitch count was high (97). So then the Arizona bullpen comes in to preserve the lead. I get a run in the 7th and 8th off of them (but I had allowed two runs in the bottom of the 7th so after Pujols' 8th inning solo-HR the score was now 7-3).
Ninth inning rolls around, still 7-3.... I was patient enough to draw three walks back-to-back-to-back to begin the inning, then Skip Schumaker flies out to right. Adam Kennedy gets jammed and hits a weak popup to first base. Albert Pujols comes up, nowhere to put him, and on an 1-0 pitch I absolutely crush the pitch into left center field, clearing the basepaths and narrowing the gap to 7-6. Then on a 3-2 pitch to Ludwick, I lined it just foul down the left field line but eventually hit a weak grounder to second for the final out, but.....
Best game I've ever played and I didn't even win. Thanks a million for these sliders bro!Comment

Re: DanSF49's "The MLB Experience" Sliders
Still think these are a vast improvement over anything I have tried so far. The only thing I have changed from your slider set is to drop contact down to 60 for both human and AI. In addition I bumped total control pitching up to 90.
I am only really having three issues that could be a concern over the long haul of a season:
1. Based on MLB averages there are about twice any many doubles being hit by both the human and CPU. These aren't cheap doubles either as they are either down the line or drives into the gaps.
2. Not enough human strikeouts. As the Rays I am striking out less than 5 times a game. Even when the computer has the advantage in the count they just don't seem to throw enough "strikeout" pitches. Everything still seems to catch too much of the plate.
3. Too many CPU strikeouts. Seeing a lot of swings and misses and called third strikes. Averaging over 9 strikeouts per inning with my starters and a little less with the pen.
Again, solid set overall.Last edited by Aaenuel; 05-25-2008, 12:18 PM.Comment

That is a timing issue once you get used to it you will be fine. Guys I just got back from a 10 day vacation so if you have any questions I'm back to answer them. Glad everyone is enjoying these as much as I have.Comment

Re: DanSF49's "The MLB Experience" Sliders
Human Batting Power from 20 to 25
Human Foul Ball Frequency from 45 to 80
Pitcher Diffuculty from 15 to 50
AI Foul Ball Frequency from 45 to 80
The reason for these changes are:
Batting Power - I just wasnt hitting HRs at the same pace as the AI and their per game HR averages are dead on. This little boost has helped even that out.
Foul Ball Frequency - Just wasnt seeing enough "staying alive" foul balls, now you will. With Contact, Foul Ball and both Influence sliders all at 80, they seem to play off of each other very well compared to when you have all of these sliders set to different numbers. The more testing I have done I really feel like these 4 sliders should always be set the the same number.
Pitcher Difficulty - With it at 15 I was finding it easier to hit the likes of Wang and Dice K then Adam Eaton and Darrel Oliver. This slider I believe I will leave at 50 and forget it.Comment

hey dan... what do you suggest to improve the AI offense?... cuz last night I struck out 13 Braves with Seth McClung... that shouldnt be happening... what can i do?Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: DanSF49's "The MLB Experience" Sliders
I was looking at this also because K's seem to be getting out of control. I would start by upping the AI skill by increments of 5. Then if you think they are making to much contact you can counter that by lowering Contact by increments of 5. I will be working on this tonight.Comment
