    Thanks.
Backdoor sliders is one good way.

Basically nibble at that corner. If the batter thinks it might be off the plate for a ball there goes your 3rd strike (looking).

You've also got to realize how BIG the actual ball cursor is. You have to compensate for its size.

Alright thanks for you input and yeah a backdoor slider was the only way I got a strikeout looking.

Ok, I tried these new sliders out as the Yankees(me) against Angels

            ANA 5 10 1
            NYY 7 11 0

            W- Sabathia 7 IP, 2 R, 6 H, 5 K, 1 BB
            L- Moseley 4 IP, 4 R, 8 H, 1 K, 2 BB
            S- Rivera 1 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 1 K, 1 BB

            HR
NYY Jeter and Swisher (both solo shots)
            ANA Napoli

            Pros:
            - Finally started hitting HRs with non-HR type guys (Jeter)
            - Pitching was refreshing, not too easy but not too hard

            Cons:
            - Mo sucks in this game! lol

            I like these sliders!

Can anyone tell me if Batter Contact at 10 helps create more foul balls, or does it just make the user whiff more?

I'm going to be pissed if 2K limited foul balls and made the AI agressive just to make the game faster (although it wouldn't surprise me). They just don't understand that if they want to compete with The Show, they need to make a simulation and not an arcade game. Don't make the AI play faster so we can get the game done quicker. He really does suck, and I freakin hate it!!! I even tried cranking his "vs rh batters and vs lh batters" up...cause he's really just not good, even rated a 90+.

But I like these sliders too!

BFJ, do you suggest using the left analog stick or not for these sliders?

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders

                    Great Post Patch Sliders, Joe.

I just had the most exciting game since buying what I thought would be a dissappointing release.

                    Here are some stats:

R H RBI AVG BB SO SB
                    Mets (me) 3 9 3 .219 2 5 2
                    Reds 4 12 4 .292 0 10 0

IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
                    J. Santana 4.0 2 0 0 0 6 0 0.00 (43-33)
                    P. Feliciano 2.0 4 1 1 0 1 1 4.50 (36-19)
                    S. Green 1.0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.00 (7-4)
                    D. O'Day 2.0 1 0 0 0 2 0 0.00 (16-12)
                    B. Wagner 1.0 2 0 0 0 0 0 0.00 (12-9)
                    F. Rodriguez 0.2 3 4 4 0 1 2 40.50 (11-9)

I pulled Santana way too prematurely as it wasn't until the top of the fifth when I generated some offense and called in a pinch hitter with two outs and the bases loaded only to have Tatis fly out.

When I'm not tempted to chuck my controller through the window when the pitcher tosses junk thats nowhere near where the arrows indicate where the ball should be breaking, I still find it a bit too easy to pin-point my pitches. Hence the donut in the walk collumn.

IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
                    A. Harang 8.0 5 0 0 1 5 0 0.00 (86-61)
                    J. Gomes 0.1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.00 (3-2)
                    F. Cordero 1.2 1 1 1 0 0 1 5.40 (11-9)
                    J. Burton 0.1 1 1 1 0 0 0 27.00 (6-4)
                    D. Weathers 0.1 2 1 1 1 0 0 27.00 (8-4)
                    A. Rhodes 0.1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.00 (1)

I found that, until I adjusted some things, the CPU hardly ever threw balls. I consider myself to be fairl patient, taking first pitches, waiting for something in the sweet spot, but it seemed as if the CPU would just pain the corners with every pitch.

And yes, folks, you're reading that right. Jonny Gomes got in on the fun.

The hitting was perfect in this game on both ends. I hit a solo bomb with Beltran (who also ended up breaking the game open in the 11th to get me the lead with a sick shot down the 3rd base line ) to tie the game up in the later innings and didn't see a HR from the computer until Votto launched one over the wall off of K-Rod to get within one run.

From there, the game kind of shafted me. Encarnacion hit a routine pop fly into center only for Beltran to stand in the cursor and let the ball drop and roll to the wall giving up a triple.

Then - oh so predictably - Jay Bruce comes up and swings at the first pitch way outside the zone to get it over the wall for a 2 run walk-off HR.

Aside from the predictable computer shenanigans in the bottom of the 11th, the game really played well.

I got a couple of stolen bases with Reyes and hi-jacked one with Castillo. Got a wide variety of hits from both ends (no homo). And the game really had an all around sim feel to it. Very fun.

Now all we need is the roster update and I can restart my Franchise.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Like I said in the other thread, I believe the success slider is tied to foul balls. If you lower it you should see more foul balls, but the AI may also hit weak dribblers and pop ups all game long...

Glad people are enjoying this last set.. As for foul balls, I have seen a fair amount of foul balls by both user & AI.

As for using the L-STICK when hitting. Yes I suggest you use it, but don't get to L-STICK happy. Pick & chose when you use-it.

I'm going to post mine when I get home I have my hitting at like 60, 40, 70.

Everything else was a tweak of yours, jbh3 and just looking at the legend/all star settings and making a hybrid.

                            my last 3 games.

                            1-0 4 hits each
                            7-6 thriller I won in the 9th
6-5 loss to Atlanta gave up a 5 run 1st.

I'm having a blast right now

Hey Joe- Nice patch 2 sliders! I use the Pirates most of the time and just beat the cards 1-0 in 9 innings. There were no hard hits or HR's by anyone the entire game though. What do you suggest to improve this? Neither me nor the cpu had an extra base hit either.

What is your thought on using default all star settings but with your pitching settings?

                              Thanks,

The game is definitely better. What's bugging me the most is the fielding. I really hope VC goes back to allowing the user to chose how they would like to field IE:

                                Manual
                                Assisted
                                Auto

Sometimes not having full control of my fielder has cost me games.
