    Re: SFGiantsPBA's Sliders

used these yesterday for a few games (w/ some personal tweaking for zone hitting, as you said, along with bumping up the pitch speed) and had great games!!

I am now able to take pitches and the cpu walked me 4 times during one of my games. The best was when i had bases loaded with one out and down 2-1, the cpu walked Jeter on a 3-1 count to tie up the game!!

That is def teh one thing that stands out to me, the most, with these sliders. The cpu does not just throw strike after strike. If you can learn to take pitches (which can be tough) you will get your walks.
    JUST WIN BABY!!

      Re: SFGiantsPBA's Sliders

Played a game last night night, and I found them to be pretty darn good. I thought maybe the hitting was going to be too hard for me, as Aaron Harang no-hit my Cards for six innings. I didn't get a base runner until Schumacker got hit by a pitch in the seventh.

But Ludwick followed it with a HR, nd a couple of more hits brought in a another run. I then Hit a lead-off HR with Ankiel in the ninth. I ended up loading the bases, but a baserunning error cost me an out and a run. I ended only scoring one more run, as my Cards lost to the Reds, 8-5. I started getting the hand of hitting, and I took a lot of balls throughout the game. I ended up with five runs on seven hits.

My problem is still with the control of my pitcher. It is still far too easy to pinpoint my pitches. The CPU was not bombs aay, though, as I allowed eight runs on 20 hits.

        Re: SFGiantsPBA's Sliders

My first game with these sliders kind of turned into home run derby. I was KC and they were the White Sox. I won 11-8 and hit 7 homers in the game. This was my first full game and I'm average at best, so I'm thinking a few tweaks are needed for me. I believe it comes down to power and hit direction influence. It seemed like every time I pressed up with the L stick and timed the swing right, I hit one into the seats. I'm thinking that by lowering power, I may be penalized by hitting more pop ups when pressing up. Or lowering hit direction influence, get more hit variety.

Other then that, it was a very fun game. CPU offense didn't seem too out of whack, and when it was, my crappy pitching was to blame. I may lower CPU power a bit.

Why is baserunner speed at 100? Seemed to cause too many triples.

I just used these and I won 16 to 1. I had 10 homeruns and CC sabathia threw 14 ks for me.

to balance out the AI Baserunner speed and to be able to steal.

Yeah my hitting has to be adjusted to each owns skill level.

I will test out more with the LS and see if I need to lower things.

Pitching and hitting is just to easy this year.

Before I was able to take contact down so low you would swing through pitches but even at 0 your always going to make contact but with the AI pitcher now pitching smarter you will swing at crap and miss.

I have set the Hit Direction Influence slider to 0 and I get a realistic amount of HR just using the R Stick. My user batting sliders are...

                Batting Success: 45
                Batter Contact: 5
                Batter Power: 65
                Pitcher Handedness Influence: 100
Inside Edge Batter Zone Influence: 100
                Batting Pitch Influence: 75
                Batter’s Eye Influence: 0
                Hit Direction Influence: 0
                Zone Hitting Influence: 0
                Bunt Contact: 0
                Bunt Success: 0

Before I stopped using the LS Hit Influence I was hitting 2-3 HR pergame with Beltran, Delgado, and Wright.

                    Re: SFGiantsPBA's Sliders

SFG I played one game with your sliders and they are pretty good. I'm playing an Atlanta Braves franchise.

Little high on the offense side this time:

Vazquez pitched for the braves, zach duke for the pirates (though duke only lasted 3.2 innings, he got rocked). Also note that I had kotchman, escobar and mccann sitting, they all needed a day off so i had nortan playing first, infante SS and the backup catcher sammons in.

                    Braves 12 17 2
                    Pirates 2 9 0

Frenchy went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, 2 RBIs and a walk or two. Norton blasted a solo homer, only homerun of the game on a first pitch fastball.

I walked 4 times, they walked once. 6 to 8 ks on both sides.

I upped the pitch speed towards the end of the game I think thatll help some.

If I continue to get too much offense for the user, what should I tweak first? I feel the pitch success slider should stay at 0 because that allows me to walk more, so probably either success power or contact. What should I tweak and how much?

I'll post second game results once I play it. Gonna try just upping the pitch speed see if that helps me not square up pitches so well.

                      Re: SFGiantsPBA's Sliders

Ok, so pitch speed didn't help.

Through FOUR innings vs. the nationals...

Jurrjens vs. some lefty who got knocked out real fast.

                      Braves 11 13 0
                      Nationals 2 6 0

Chipper has the day off. I tried lowering power, success even raised pitch success, no luck. Never tweaked them up or down more than 10 points from the original settings.

I think I might be ok with pitch success at 25 and pitch speed at 75, leaving all the batting sliders alone but we'll see.

Lol, at one point kotchman, then mccann then frenchy hit back to back to back homeruns. Got an achievement good things come in threes. haha.

Dude loving these sliders...i played Bucs vs. Braves..won 3-2 bases loaded single with Andy LaRoche here are some stats...

                        snell 7ip, 7h, 2r, 0bb, 3k, 1hra
                        grabow 1ip, 0,0,0
                        karstens 1ip, 0, 0, 2bb, 0k

                        lowe 6ip, 2h, 2r, 0bb, 9k
                        soriano 2ip, 3h, 0r, 0bb, 1k
                        boyer 0ip, 1h, 1r,
                        gonzalez 0.2, 1h, 0r, 1bb, 0k
                        acosta 0ip, 1h, 0r, 0bb, 0k

not too much offense so i'll post the standouts

                        Pirates
                        McLouth 2-3 (Triple, Double)
                        Adam LaRoche 2-4
Andy LaRoche 1-4 (Game winning single)

                        Braves
Garrett Anderson 3-4 (Triple, Double, Single)
                        Yunel Escobar 1-4 (Hr)

I had moved up the contact from 5 to 20 because i really do need a lil more practice hitting.once i feel I'm getting too good then i'll drop it back down to 5, but thanks for fixing the cpu throwing 99% strikes finally they throw tons of balls so you can work the count a lil which i wasn't doing lol...and as for their aggressiveness all i did was nibble a lot they took some balls not many i didn't walk a batter but hey the game lasted about an hour

Actually the pitch sucess for AI is really good at lowering your amount of runs scored.

^ yes it is. Problem is at pitch success goes up, they start throwing more and more strikes and it makes it harder to get walks. Pitch success is how well they can locate pitches as far as I know. I'm going to try it at 25, pitch speed at 75, and everything else the same as SFGPBA's sliders.

Try not using the left stick at all and rely on just the right. I still hit homers on pitches down the middle and well timed arond the plate but i believe the influence is a little arcady for me.
