Nice, on that last edition (Not the 3rd) I had a crazy game. 23 hits, on 16 runs. The Cubbies had 16 hits on 9 runs.

IT WAS MADNESS!

Going to try on the new change, still not set on a certain set of sliders as of yet.

Tried out the third edition exactly as posted except pitch speed at 75.

Braves (Glavine) vs Cardinals (Carpenter)

Braves 10 15 0
Cards 2 4 1

Glavine and Carpenter had shutouts through 4. Braves scored once in the 5th. Cards tie it in the 6th. Braves go back ahead by 1 in the bottom of the 6th.

Then Braves come up in the 7th and get runners first and third no outs and they pull carpenter. Then all hell breaks loose. I hit a three run bomb with kotchman. 6 runs in the 7th. 1 in the 8th on a frenchy solo shot. 1 in the ninth on back to back doubles. Pujols hit a solo shot in the 9th when I was just throwing strikes trying to get the game over with since theres no sim to the end option anymore.

I'm pretty sure the issue is pitch success being at 0. When they try to throw strikes they leave them over the heart of the plate. When they try to nibble they end up walking me on 4 pitches. Pitch success is a slider for how well the pitcher hits his spots. I think this is what needs to go up, probably at least to 25, possibly higher.

Also need to see a little more CPU offense though I might just try bumping success back up to 50 and maybe raise contact just a little bit. I'm King 8-10 batters per game with contact where it's at right now.

What do you think SF?

EDIT: I am playing in franchise with these. I wonder if the ups and downs and streaks in franchise could cause the stats to skew a bit. Before playing the game against the cards I believe the braves lost several games (i simmed ahead). Probably lost 4 or 5 of the last 6. Maybe I was just due for a win?

I think your correct and I'm going to try Pitch Success at 10 and 5 I want it low but I do see to many middle pitches but I do want them to miss far also so 0 was too extreme.

I will leave it as is until I'm sure of where I want it which would be some time tonight I guess lol.

I noticed that pitch speed even if it's listed on the human pitching side, governs cpu pitch speed too. Do you agree?

Besides, with pitch speed at 100 and strike zone at 0, the cpu will ty to paint the corners, and it is more inclined to concede walks.

35 sounds like a good number. I know in that forever long BFJ OS slider thread his are at like 40. I think you're onto something with the low contact but higher power ratings though. Using his sliders I end up hitting line drives right at people about 40-50% of the time. Contact needs to be lower, power higher than what he has to see more hit variety.

I'll try 35 pitch success, maybe lower pitch speed back down so I can keep an even better eye since they'll be nibbling corners a lot more and I'll get back to you tonight after work when I get a chance to play.

SF- Has V4 been updated to first page. Since I have a PS3 I can't download your sliders. Unless you have them on PS3 as well.

Yes all updates get correct on that page and when I post like this showing the slider changed that means that's the only change made!

PBA! Great sliders, just downloaded last nights update.

Played with my Giants against the Brew crew and had 2 looking strikeouts!! AMAZING!

Also had plenty of looking strikes and swinging at balls, of course this is not a complete fix but it does make the game play better!

I can get p to 90 or so becuase I throw balls and walk guys.

played a game with the 35 pitch success

Braves (lowe) vs. cardinals (losche)

braves 10 14 1
cards 1 9 2

granted, the cards had some really untimely errors and it was really 3 errors, not 2. probably accounted for 3-5 runs. I had some really timely hitting too, i was knocking 'em dead with guys on. No homers hit in the game. Couple walks on each side. It played well. I miiiight but it up to 40, might not. Note i did keep the CPUs batting success at 50, mine was at 40.

I'll play another game or two. I think this was a bit of a fluke. It happens, it's baseball.

I'll report back. These sliders are getting close.

A couple early things I'm trying to address are:

1) too easy to make contact - so i'm trying Classic Hitting with the cursor

so far seems to help

2) too easy to throw strikes - so I'm trying Classic pitching

can't seem to throw too many strikes and if i do i get lit up

do your sliders only work for total control pitching and hitting? anyone try these pitching in classic mode and hitting with the cursor?
