Just used these and had my best game yet. Yanks(me) vs Tampa

      R H E
      NY 0 5 1
      TB 1 3 0

Pettitte had 3Ks, gave up the run on an infield single by Crawford, then Crawford stole 2nd & 3rd and Pena singled. Sonnanstine went 7.1 IP with 3Ks.

One thing is I might knock down CPU contact one or two clicks, had a lot of first pitch contact made by CPU. Other than that great game with these sliders, I wasn't hitting everything as much, was hitting balls to all parts of the field...

Ok Guru, I know these sliders are for the swing stick, but if i was using classic batting, what batting sliders would i use to where i'll get a variety of hits and still be able to hit home runs?

Classic batting? Maybe you should ask for what the batting abacus settings are.

          I kid, I kid.

Any word on how these play online against human players?

These are somewhat similar to mine, I will try the batting pitch influence slider as I have not messed with that one much.

One thing I am noticing is that when I make a bad pitch (i.e. the red circle after releasing is like a dot instead of big red circle or "max") the CPU will swing and hit the ball hard even if the location I selected was well off the plate. This seems to be some penalty for not executing the pitch well with the right stick. Because my thumbs are slow I had to adjust the hold timing influence and release timing influence for the human sliders so it made it easier to get a big "red circle". When I did that I started hitting my spots much better and the CPU took many of the pitches, including strikes, or swung and missed. This greatly increased my pitch count and I even walked a couple of CPU batters because I was nibbling too much. It helps with the CPU swing aggression, though it doesn't totally fix it because they will still swing at some good pitches they should be taking early in the count.

I played game, but was crazy hit fest by computer, maybe I dont understand the circles correctly. Can someone please explain to me on what I am trying to accomplish with the pitching? I am new to the series so maybe doing the opposite on what i need to do when pitching. Sometimes I see a green circle different sizes and sometimes a red circle different sizes......My deductive reasoning would assume that green is good and red bad. Any instructions on how to pitch this way would help, thanks.

You just want to hold the first pitch motion until the cirlce is completely filled yellow and then do the second motion. It's different than last year and the cpu was crushing the ball against me for a while.

I was about to register just to post this but apparently I have an account from a while back that I forgot about.

But anyway, I'm having some pretty realistic games after making one small change to this. My first game playing with these sliders, I had 5 errors in two innings, so I lowered the fielding errors down from 55 to 40 and it seems to be working much better (maybe an error or two a game).

I might end up pushing up power just a little bit as well for myself, it's been four games now with zero homeruns on both teams.

They've been pretty realistic though now, just played a game that was 2-1 Brewers beat me as the Cardinals in 10 (they had 7 hits, I had 5, and committed one error). The game before this, the Astros beat me 3-2 in 13, and the one before that the Red Sox beat me 5-0. I've been getting almost no power though, my runs have all had to be manufactured (squeezes, hit and runs, etc. are very helpful with these sliders) so like I said, I might nudge that up a bit.

I'm sure it would help me to take more pitches and work the count better though. In the most recent game, Wainwright threw 86 through 8.2 innings, 65 for strikes, and McClellan threw 7 pitches, 6 strikes. Meanwhile, their starter, Gallardo threw 41 pitches (40 strikes) through 8, and Gagne threw 7 pitches for 7 strikes for 2 innings.

does the "hit direction influence" slider affect how much pushing a direction on the left stick influences your swing type/ball flight? i think the sliders i'm using now have it set high and it seems like i can hit a homer 75% of the time with power hitters by pressing up regardless of pitch type/location

Been playing with these, this is my latest game. I'll list major points after the stats.

                          CLE vs TOR (me)
                          HR 0 - 1
                          K 1 - 3
                          SB 1 - 0
                          E 0 - 1
                          PITCH COUNT 73 - 70
                          BALLS 8 - 17
                          STRIKES 65 - 53

                          CLE 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 0 0
                          TOR 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0

                          CLE 3 7 0
                          TOR 1 7 1

Just in point form so it's easy to go through for Guru.
                          - CPU outfielders seem to be able to get to ANYthing
                          - CPU runners seem a tad too fast for the time in which you have to go to a ball in the outfield and put it back into the infield, if that makes sense.
                          - Pitch count is very low, but that's part of the game.
                          - My ability to make good contact was limited

All in all, I felt significantly handicapped throughout.

I singled these 2 points out,as I feel these are an excellent description of how I felt after playing a game using these earlier.

I played against the D-Backs (I was the Dodgers) and lost 3-0.
Now...don't get me wrong,I don't mind losing...it was HOW the loss happened.

The cpu getting to everything, not to mention all my hits to the of were lazy fly outs, nothing of substantial power.

The cpu hitting and pitching was alot better, but I just felt "tied down" and not able to get anything going. I had a total of 9 hits in the game, but they were all singles due to the cpu speed in the of. I had what I thought were sure gappers, but everytime the ofielder would catch it in the nick of time.

Overall though, these sliders seem to have that "it" factor,I did see alot of nice cpu pitching,me being able to work the count and was even able to have the cpu take some first pitches.

I'll probably adjust speed for both though,as the cpu (imo) was to juiced up and my guys were always a "step behind"
I'm also going to adjust my hitting as well,as there were plenty of times I thought I got good wood on the ball, only to see a lazy fly,or a slow dribbler to the ss.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

that is correct....the hit direction slider needs to be toned down a bit and power also needs to be toned down in order for the home runs to be cut down....

put it around mid level and that would make it harder to just jack homers
