Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders (All Verisons Here) V3.0
Been playing with these, this is my latest game. I'll list major points after the stats.
CLE vs TOR (me)
HR 0 - 1
K 1 - 3
SB 1 - 0
E 0 - 1
PITCH COUNT 73 - 70
BALLS 8 - 17
STRIKES 65 - 53
CLE 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 0 0
TOR 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0
CLE 3 7 0
TOR 1 7 1
Just in point form so it's easy to go through for Guru.
- CPU outfielders seem to be able to get to ANYthing
- CPU runners seem a tad too fast for the time in which you have to go to a ball in the outfield and put it back into the infield, if that makes sense.
- Pitch count is very low, but that's part of the game.
- My ability to make good contact was limited
All in all, I felt significantly handicapped throughout.
What I suggest for you to do is raise the power slider for your side a bit but not to much...the difference in one small click to many will lead to a lot of homers..
raise it one time which is 5 clicks and if that dont work then raise it another click..but be careful, you do not want to mess with the balance of the game...this game can become to homer happy if not careful.
in terms of OF speed for the cpu...Did reason I have it that high is due to the fact that below that...I always got bloop hits or lazy fly balls to the outfield would always fall in...main reason is tht the framereate is garbage on fly balls to the corner outfield spots or shallow center...notice how the fielders go into this slow motion...but lower it a bit and you should be good...<!-- / message -->Comment

Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders (All Verisons Here) V3.0
I tried these sliders out and through four innings (Dodgers vs. Giants), the score is 2-0 Dodgers (I was able to break through with a two-out, RBI double by Eithier and a two-out RBI single by Blake).
Of course, these hits came after Lincecum left the game with a back injury. Prior to his departure, I was able to draw a walk off of him and struck out twice (though I was able to work the count).
With these sliders the CPU definitely throws more balls, which is fantastic. The over-aggressiveness of the CPU batters is still there, but nowhere near what it was before. With these sliders along with some of the other modifications (music, etc), this game is actually very enjoyable. Now if they would include the deeper player editing options (player stances and pitcher motions) along with toning down the CPU batters in the second patch, I think I'd be pretty happy.
Thanks Guru!Comment

Trying out your sliders, Arizona Diamondbacks and Cinci Reds!
I prefer lower scoring games anyways, I think 10+ run games are not that common and don't want to see it with a sim alot.
Plus the runs/hit ratio, I don't believe a 2 run, 15 hit game is believable. I'm looking more for the realism, any I can get out of this baseball game. Makes it more enjoyable.
So looking forward to trying your sliders, Guru.Comment

Guru,
Actually had a Tigers/Twins matchup, favoring the Twins myself.
I lowered some of the power and running, dropped the contact down 5 points on each and still managed a great game. Going to play another game with them, but greatly enjoyed this one.
There was a big 4th inning, when I hit a Grand Slam. The end score was 6-3, 11 hits my way, 10 hits the other.
Pitch count was 108 Tigers, 86 Twins.
Excellent job, looking forward to my next game.Comment

that is all for visual affect and challenge of hitting a faster pitch
the strength of a hit is all tied into the power sliderComment

Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders (All Verisons Here) V3.0
Nice sliders man.
Royals(me) vs Toronto-Greinke vs Halladay. Lost 3-0
Royals-
5 hits(all singles)
1 error
5 k's
60 strikes
22 balls
Greinke- 6 ip, 7 hits, 2 runs, 7 k's
Bluejays
9 hits(1 triple)
7 k's
68 k's
13 balls
Halladay 9 ip, 5 hits, 5 k's, 0 runs
Halladay seemed really dominant with these. I like the increased pitch speeds and fielders are better too. Hits are hard to come by. Only problem i had was Greinke had a shutout going through 4 and was already getting tired. He made it through 6 but gave a run in the 6th inning and was pretty much done for. It seems like the pitcher fatigue isnt set right. Halladay was tired and pitched a complete game shutout though. I'm really enjoying this game and am not seeing the bugs that other people are talking about at this point. These sliders are really close. There has to be a perfect set out there.Last edited by kGinGreen; 03-10-2009, 05:58 AM.Comment

Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders (All Verisons Here) V3.0
I've played with a few different sliders now, and Guru this set you have is by far the best I've come across...played a few games and I'm really seeing good results. My first game Santana threw a gem and the mets beat my cards by one...second game Wainright threw a complete game allowed just 4 hits, 1 run, and 7 K's.....thanks again!Comment
