Guru i posted this in Joes thread too: the biggest problem I am seeing with teh AI offense is they are hitting to many bad pitches well. Fast balls high and away off the plate are being smacked for homers... Breaking balls tailing away from batters are being pulled for shots in the gap, balls in the dirt are being golfed for hard hits etc... Do any of the sliders tone this down or is that just the way the game is coded? Are you also seeing this? Thanks

Re: ~Guru's~ Post Patch Sliders V1.0-3.0
I have not had the issue at all. I am barely seeing homers from the cpu therefore i will raise the cpu power for my next update.
I have made some tweaks to get the cpu to not miss on curves all the time yet allow for strikeouts and realistic amount of hits and runs.
Still testing but liking the results.
In your case i suggest to lower cpu contact a bit but raise their success as well...You dont want to cripple the cpu offenseComment

These sliders aren't perfect, but they're pretty good. I just got done playing a game with Florida (ME) vs. the Phillies.
Here are the stats
FLA 2 11 1
PHI 4 17 0
This game was a hitfest, but both pitchers did a decent job of getting out of jams to limit runs. The hit variety was great, but there was a lack of foul balls. I think more foul balls are possible, as someone in the patch impressions thread said he was getting a ton, but maybe we just need a little more tweaking to get more.
Name H R ER BB SO
Johnson 15 4 4 0 3
Proctor 0 0 0 0 1
Tankersley2 0 0 1 0
Total 17 4 4 1 4
Meyers 6 2 2 1 2
Durbin 1 0 0 0 0
Eyre 4 0 0 0 0
Lidge 0 0 0 0 0
Total 11 2 2 1 4
I'm really confident that the proper slider tweaks can give us a great game of baseball. Here are two sliders I changed, Guru.
First I lowered pitch speed from 100 to 75. That's just me. Pitch speed is one of those sliders that has always been, in my mind, user preference, and with it at 100 that was just too darn fast. 75 is perfect for me though.
I also lowered Catcher throw out success from 45 to 30. I was thrown out trying to steal with Hanley Ramirez and Cameron Maybin, two of the fastest players in baseball. Again, maybe that's just me and I'm a bad stealer, but that's what I did.
I can't wait to get the perfect sliders, and you are starting off great. This just gets me so hyped for my franchise and also makes me sorta want to post my franchise on here, but I don't know how good of a job I would do haha.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

I started using the hitstick and i'm getting great results with these sliders. My only beef is that the computer kind of stinks at hitting but that's about it.Comment

I have mine just right. Used Gurus' and adjusted some. GREAT games thus far.
Very happy now Post-Patch. NOT perfect, but fun and challenging as well as getting realistic numbers etc. Now if i can just keep my starting pitchers healthy...=]

Re: ~Guru's~ Post Patch Sliders V1.0-3.0
Hey, Guru. Good sliders. I found the CPU offense was a little feeble, and I haven't seen a single HR in 5 games with the sliders, so I've raised success a little and am thinking I might give power a slight boost. Pitcher/hitter battle feels pretty good right now. I also lowered fielder speed a few notches (I find the fielders' range is out of control in this game).
Quick question, are you having trouble stealing and if so, does catcher throwout success only affect human catchers or CPU as well?
Thanks for the hard work, my last game was MIN 3, BOS - 2 (myself as twins). Hits were 9-8 with two errors for MIN. Wakefield got yanked after three innings with 5 walks and 6 hits. Hadn't seen anything like that yet.Comment

Re: ~Guru's~ Post Patch Sliders V1.0-3.0
I have not been able to find v3.0 on 2kshare. I've only been able to find v2.0. The game certainly plays good and competitive except I've found myself completely unable to hit home runs. I've played 6 games with Seattle and have yet to hit one. I even made trades for E. Dukes and Adrian Gonzalez to bring some power in, but nothing. Would I adjust the user batting success slider to bring this out? Also, is there a way I can homer without using the left stick to aim the swing? I may be trying to do too much. Thanks!Chicago White Sox | Seattle Mariners | Chicago Bears | Tottenham HotspurComment
