Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
I too am a CPU vs CPU geek. I've always been drawn to "coach" modes and CPU vs CPU stuff. I occasionaly work from home and sometimes it's fun to have a game going on in the background while I'm working.
I have a question and though it's not related to sliders I figured I'd ask here since this thread is a good collection of us. 2K was kind enough to give us the option to control all 30 teams in franchise as well as full automation of the minor leagues and lineups and pitching rotations. What I didn't see the one day I looked was full GM automation. I'd be interested in getting a franchise going where I don't control ANYTHING...and instead just pick and choose random games to watch and just follow the league as it progresses from season to season. Is there any way to do this or do I have to be in control of trading, player signing etc. for all teams that are to be human controlled?
With that said I'm really looking forward to giving these sliders a try.
Hope this helps.Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
I just checked this stuff out. If you choose ON for Injury Managment and Roster Management the CPU will sign free agents as necessary throughout the season.
The CPU will auto-draft the Amateur Draft when you get to that point.
When you get to the off-season tasks you can choose to advance past a task (Free Agency, player re-signing etc) and the option will pop up to allow the CPU to handle them.
The one thing to be aware of is if you have 40 Man Roaster Managment and/or Trade Managment turned ON in the Franchise Automation menu, both of those items will be skipped altogether and not handled by the CPU. Leave 40Man Manage OFF and you'll get a prompt where you can have the CPU handle it on a case by case basis.
So the only thing you really cant automate for the User controlled team is trades.Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
whew! just finished a game (In game save works great!) I think the AI manager logic is broken, or it may need some fine tuning via a patch. white sox win 3-2 in 12. funny thing is, the pitching numbers
Buerlhe 7.1 inn, 8 hits, 4bb, 5ks...113 pitches thrown
Jenks 5.2inn, 2hits, 1bb, 5ks...69 pitches (WHAT?)
INDIANS
Carmona 8inn, 9hits, 6bb, 6k, 121 pitches thrown
K. woods 4inn, 4hits, 2ks...43pitches
YES, it seems we DO have a problem with the CPU Manager AI. Carmona should have been pulled in the 4th, when he walked the bases loaded, only to get out of it with a double play. I will try to run another game tomorrow....two jobs keeps a man busy! BTW, no HR's.Comment

I set up a franchise last night with these sliders and got two games done. I'm following along with my Phillies. I don't have too many details but here are some for each game
First game:
PHI 6 9 0
WAS 5 13 1
(10 innings)
Halladay was pulled after 4.1 innings having given up 4 runs and Lannan was pulled after 4.0 innings having given up 3 runs
There were a total of 18 walks in this game which seemed high to me
Second game:
PHI 5 11 0
WAS 0 2 0
Cole Hamels pitched a complete game, 2 hit shutout. I don't know where to find pitch counts in the box scores but at one point in the 9th I saw Hamels was only at about 87 pitches...and that seemed pretty good.
This game only had 5 walks total which was much better.
Combined there was only 1 home run in both games.Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
I have been working on a new set of sliders with a few small tweaks and 2 MAJOR ones. I don't want to give them out just yet because i really want to run them through a number of games to test them properly. I'll try and post them today, but i wanted to tell everyone that (don't get crazy, I thought the last batch were real tight sliders and it turns out they had a few problems that i think i will woork out with these) I am getting real promising results so far and i think you will find an inprovement.Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
The main problem I'm seeing with this game is that the CPU batters can't seem to pull the ball. They will every once in awhile but its far too sporadic for my liking. The AI is just not skilled enough with the swing stick and its late on most pitches. If only VC could fix this with the patch update.Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
well, here's a game I just finished, and we had pretty much of the same...
White sox 3 indians 1
Chisox pitching
Floyd 8.2inn, 10hits, 1run, 3bb, 7ks, 112 pitches
Pena .01inn
Indians pitching
A. Laffey 7.1 inn, 9hits, 3runs, 0bb, 4ks, 73 pitches
R. Rundels .2inn, 1hit, 1run 4 pitches
This game probably confirms we need a patch. Too many instances where the CPU AI should have taken both pitchers out. Also, I did notice more hit balls going to the opposite field or center field. I watched this game pretty intently, and only 6 batters actually pulled the ball, whether it was a hit or an out. It may be time to shelf this game until we get the patch and see what it addresses. one HR hit in the game, by Ramirez of the Sox.Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
Excellent work, and thank you!
How are the length of the games in CPU vs CPU / Coach Mode? The MLB: The Show 09 version games generally took 30-40 minutes. Not bad, but a little hard to play out an entire season without fast simming a lot of games. I'm assuming the 2K10 games take a similar length of time to play out?Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
it typically can take an hour or more per game. I've never gotten past the allstar break, if I don't sim the games. as far as the progress on the thread, I believe we are going to wait for the patch, which should be out any day now.Comment

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
Throw Meter Influence needs to be set to at least 80 since that will cause more errors and you have it set to 0 so that is why your not seeing errors. Also fatigue isn't the best as Beckett was pulled after 64 pitches. Will set this to 60 and what that does. The CPU throws too many balls in my opinion as Beckett and Sabathia both had close to even balls vs strikes so I'll set that to 50 and see what that does.

Can you tell me why the 'throw meter Influence' slider, makes any difference while watching a CPU vs CPU game?XBOX Gamertag: KCHuskey

Re: Ultimate CPU vs. CPU Slider set.
got the patch downloaded, and am noticing a few things differently in the 3rd inning of a game. Lefties are pulling the ball more (don't know if this was addressed in the patch) and the pitchers stamina SEEMS to be working. we will see when both starters get lower...btw, does anyone know if they get tired faster if the setting is higher? I know in NBA 2k9 the players get tired faster if the setting is lower...Comment
