So MK are you still getting good games with this set?
I need to find a way to make the cpu's offense better.
The last 5 games I have played I have given up 0,1,0,2, and 3 runs.
These 5 games were vs the Cards and Nationals so it is not like they were vs teams with bad offenses. It has just gotten way too easy to pitch for some reason. The first 10 or so games using this set I struggled to pitch but the last 10 games I have a 1.80 team ERA!
I think I have just gotten really use to the pitch meter speed and have gotten really good at spotting my pitches.
I think I am going to just start throwing the ball exactly where the catcher wants me to. As I dont always do this, I rarely ever throw the ball high or down the middle even if that is where they want me to throw it. I just cant make myself throw a meat pitch when I know I can throw the ball low and away and strike a guy out.
Do you throw to where the catcher wants you to?
By the way the human offense/cpu pitching sliders are perfect!
I am batting .278 the last 10 games with 12 HRS and I am ave. 4.66 runs over the last 10, like I said perfect!

Ha! It's funny, because I'm starting to get very frustrated. Lack of CPU offense is starting to rear it's ugly head.

So I tried something last night (because I'm mastering the pitching, even with all those things maxed out): I bumped CPU contact to 55 and I was the Rays (Shields pitching) vs. Baltimore (CPU).

What I liked is that I lost 4-3 in the 9th inning. I gave up 12 hits to my 11. Again, this was good. I gave up 2 doubles and a triple - again, good.

But what I HATED: the CPU swung FIRST PITCH a TON...in 2 consecutive innings I was able to get ground ball outs on 1st pitches - so I threw a combined SIX pitches in the 2nd and 3rd innings... that just sucks. I only struck out ONE batter...

So here's the deal: the difference between CPU contact at 55 from 50 is HUGE... not only do they make better contact, but they SWING at everything, early & often.

I was also able to induce FIVE double play balls... this might have just an anomaly because Shields is a groundball pitcher... But it's just too many.

I hate to say it, but this game is just too flawed, and I'm finding it hard (once again) to enjoy. Once you get the pitching mechanics down, it's just too easy.

I'm going to try another game with it at 55, using a lesser rated pitcher and see what happens. Then I'm going to try it with an elite pitcher and see if I can strike anyone out.

If not, then I don't know what to do...

        What about trying "classic" pitching??

Also what about lowering pitcher composer?
My thinking is maybe with it at 100 once you get a few guys in a row out the pitchers composer becomes too high. Therefore with it high they no longer allow any runs.

Classic pitching was even easier than total control to me, it's just pure timing ...which as you both said once you get it down, you can shut the cpu down pretty easy. Even if you're really good with total control, there's going to be times where you don't do the movement perfectly.

You might be onto something with the composure thing, could be that it works both ways.

Love these sliders man, they are perfect from head to toe! I just wish Howard wasn't dropping bombs all the time. I am 50 games into the season with 27 homeruns! Everyone else is dead one, Howard is just on fire. But love these sliders, they are the best out there!

              Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting

I experimented with another game today using 55 for CPU hitting contact... I think we might be on to something...

BUT...you MUST pitch like a pitcher and move the ball around and keep it OFF the plate.

I played today's Rangers (CPU) vs. Indians (me) game...

I lost 9-2... I gave up 16 hits to my 11. I STRUCK OUT 5 combined batters. I also WALKED 4. The game got out of hand early as I gave up 5 runs alone in the 4th inning. Huff pitched for the Tribe and it honestly felt very real...

I'm going to do more testing at 55, but I really think I'm going to move this up and keep it at 55... I know that 16 hits sounds like a lot, but I did some stupid things at times (first pitch strikes that were grooved down the plate that they bombed for doubles). But once I started "pitching" I was able to see things like long duels (one at bat against Young I threw 12 pitches...).

I was only able to get in one game last night with contact now at 55.
I beat the Nats with in my Reds season 5-4.
The Nats had 4 runs and 10 hits, Dunn hit a 2 run bomb.
With contact at 55 the cpu offense is better, but at one point I retired 13 in row with Harang. Like I said cpu offense is better, I will check back once I get in a few more games.

I played the matchup of Seattle (me) using Felix Hernandez vs. Oakland (CPU) and they had Sheets on the mound. I lost 3-0... CPU hitting contact at 55 - LOVED it!!

I wasn't really into being patient in my at bats, just wanted to see how I pitched.

I threw a complete game: 8 innings, 8 hits given up, 6 K's and 1 walk. I gave up 2 doubles and a triple. I moved the ball around, and threw a lot of balls. 98 total pitches and 64 strikes thrown...

I'm definitely leaving the CPU contact at 55...

Regarding the first pitch swings: I don't think there's much we can do... This game basically teaches us we can't have everything.

might try lowering cpu power by increments of 5 and see what you think...

MK with cpu contact at 55 these are now Golden for me!
I believe we have our final set, great work on these.
I played about 10 games over the weekend with them and everything looks great.
My batting for the 10 games was .285 and my team ERA was 4.60, I went 4-6 in my Reds season.

question for Mk and everyone else using these sliders, i am 6 games into my franchise and i seem to be crushing the ball, i am 5-1 with 25 home runs through 6 games, i just played a game last night against tampa, i hit 9hr's, i have had double digit scores every game except two?

has anyone tweaked the sliders after they downloaded them off of 2kshare? if so to what degree?

i'm liking the sliders except the scores and amount of hits i am getting are seeming to be unrealistic right now..right now nick swisher and jorge posada lead my tem in hr's with 6 a piece

Appreciate it. Yeah, I agree. I'm done making changes and post #1 has the final set. I had a fun game last night (exhibition - just picked two random teams by holding both triggers down simultaneously). I was Pittsburgh (road team) at Kansas City (CPU). Maholm vs. Hochever.

I gave up quite a few hits early (6 through 3 innings) but did no damage. Finally in the 5th Maholm came unglued. I walked back to back guys but tried to let him fight through it - loaded the bases and NOBODY out. I had a HUGE double play in making a catch in CF, but McCutcheon had plenty of time to get under the ball...fired a strike to homeplate and nailed the running for a double play. I then got a ground ball to get out of it. Still scoreless.

I gave up a walk in the 6th...stolen base...and then a double which gave KC the lead. Yanked Maholm for Hanrahan and he was solid.

I scored 2 in the top of the 7th on a Garrett Jones single and a 2 run homer by Doumit. Hanrahan struck out two batters in the 7th and I decided to also let him pitch the 8th. 2 2/3 IP, 0 hits and 2 k's.

I let Dotel close it out and he worked a scoreless 9th, striking out 2.

Final 2-1 Pirates... I had 7 hits to KC's 10. I walked 4 batters and walked twice myself. I struck out 12 times (damn offspeed stuff - LOL!!) and I struck them out 5 times.

Moving the ball...changing speeds...and not afraid to walk guys. This game is now a LOT of fun to play, as the difficulty is fair and the sim stuff is spot on.
