    Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting

    Thanks! Appreciate your honest feedback...

Here's the problem... Yes, I strike out a LOT. BUT, if you don't lower the user contact you get too many hits. So it's either a hit or a strikeout - not quite to that extent, but you get my drift.

I found that raising user contact to 25 I could get 12-15 hits per game. I don't want to change the pitch speed because then there is no differentiation in pitch speeds and types. Currently, it causes you to have to be patient on offspeed pitches, but if you do you'll be rewarded.

So, no you are NOT "that bad" - it's just the give and take of this game. We can't have everything.

Regarding the pitching camera, I'll have to check that out. I'm hesitant to change that because I've played a TON of games with the default setting.

Also, I need some help here... In the camera settings for user batting - what does zoom in on pitch mean? Would appreciate some help on that! Thanks!!

Thanks a lot for your quickly answer = >

Im OK with my SO rating then, lol.

I can live with it but i was wondering how were other people doing.

About the pitching camera i know you dont want to change it but I honestly think you may like it (I may be wrong), specially considering you've said before you´d like pitching to be harder. I think using pitching camera # 1, zoom # 1 is the hardest camera to use and i love it.

About the "zoom in" question it means that the camera will aproach to you once the pitcher starts his motion, something like if you are using zoom 8 and when the pitcher starts moving it goes to zoom 10...

      I hope it helps!

Yeah when the pitcher begins his motion the camera will slowly zoom in, I don't really like it but I can see why some might use it.

EDIT: I also agree with vermont about zoomed out pitching camera being more difficult. It makes it tough to spot the corners.

Thanks for the support l3ulvl, lol

If some of you decide to try the pitching camera "Pitcher 1 Zoom 1" i would recommend Position 3 (maybe 2 with some pitchers) Height 4 what would mean:

          Pitching camera:
          Pitcher 1
          Zoom1
          Position 3
          Height 4

I really like this setting and i´ve tried A LOT. I think some of you may like it

Vermont, about the striking out thing...you just got to be patient and look for a certain pitch somewhere over the plate. I strike out about 6-9 times a game but ever since i have become patient at the plate, i strike out less plus i get alot of walks which leads to runs. So again man, just be patient and llook for your pitch

I find the classic hitting to make timing even more difficult than it already is. When using total control batting, you're to swing differently according to pitch and location; an inside fastball would require a quicker and earlier swing to get in front of it, conversely a slider down and and away from an opposite handed pitcher requires a slower and later swing . The classing hitting makes the bat swing with the same speed (fast), so you're whiffing on pitches you shouldn't be (sliders, breaking balls etc.) Just trying to help.

For anyone still using these, I have raised user power to 95 (from 90). I found that I was hitting a lot of dribblers/grounders. I think raising the power slightly has helped cut down on a lot of the strikeouts that I was receiving on pitches I should have been making contact with. First post is noted... Thanks.

After playing 11 and 12 the past few days I can tell you that the zoom in feature for hitting does not work on this game. I use it for 11 and 12 and like it a lot.

I use the default setting for pitching. However, there is a website where someone has provided all the real camera angles for every team based upon the home tv broadcast (I don't have the link in front of me at the office).
Here's the link hope it gets you to the correct page. Some of these views look great but the strike zones look really small.
