BIGFNJOE96 Present MLB 2K12 "A Mid Summer Classic"

After testing both Pro & Legend Sliders, I've decided to stick with Legend. I've played about 10 games. Games varied. Though they may look exactly like 2k11 set, they aren't. ENJOY

Right now I'm using Strike Zone OFF & pitching to the Inside Edge Reports.

    Feedback is always welcome

After ready BeetleBum's Slider thread based on sabermetrics & free-flowing animations I'm gonna tweak this 1st page to reflect some of his theory, which are a great find. If you haven't please visit his thread:

As you know, I enjoy your slider thread-tried these last night-pretty good game of baseball-started my Angels Franchise, Weaver was awesome-6innings - 1 hit - 3 walks- 8 K's 2 walks came to score and an inside the parker by Loney, ball went over Torii's head to the cap-so only gave up 1 ER-3 hits total-Crayton K's was on his game, so little offense. I tell you what Albert is pretty good too. Never used the Cards in past games so i never got a chance to play as him-but WOW his contact vs Power is awesome....def will be the punch i need in the lineup-and pitching staff should hold up to AL west Champs!!!!still need to work on my game...good for spring training-as im going to play every 162 games this season-will update sliders as needed throughout the season-as for rosters-not much I can do- LIVING Rosters for my NEW SEASON MODE-with M's-super hard to build-but i'm going to try!......need to look into a solid 4 and 5 starter for the Northwest-AL Mariners!...roster over haul is a possibility-!

I'm gonna be making some minor changes to the 1st page. Mainly to Batting, Throwing, Running. Though I like BB theory on Base Running (Real-Time Speeds) the game doesn't program in that way unfortunately & I'm seeing runners who aren't that fast do things they shouldn't.

Also gonna bump pitch speed back to 75 for both..

Alright it looks like these will be the changes:

          Batting:

          User Contact: 35 Power stays @ 50
          CPU Contact: 45/Power: 55

          Throwing:

          Outfield: 55/ Infield: 50 (Both)

          Catcher Arm Strength: 65 (Both)

Base Running: 55 (Both) Everything looked good via the base paths with this setting..

I think these are just right. Please use these as a base & tweak as needed

I found that 55 is perfect for running. I timed guys from contact to first base as is used in pro scouting. It's the closest thing to realism there is in the game. I'll test out the other changes shortly. So far, so good.

By the way, are you seeing any user HR's?

Yes, I'm seeing HR's. I'm having good results right now. Last game I played I lost to the Rangers 6-4 using the Yankees.

Rangers had 10 hits with Nellie Cruz taking CC deep over the CF wall. They also had 2 doubles & 1 triple with Kinsler.

I had 6 hits V. Colby Lewis. 1 was an opposite field HR with Granderson.

SO seem good. Rangers had 6 & I had 5. The game also had a lot of different hit types.

Both teams had 1 steal & each threw out 1 runner attempting to steal

I'm noticing that 55 is too fast base running wise. I never get doubled up by the computer, knocked itndown to 50 and still beat it out and that was by casey kotchman on a routine grounder to 2nd. I think I may have to bump it down to 45 or 40, as for the computer 50 seems ok, at 55 eunel Escobar hit one right at acab and I threw it in the green but he beat it out at first.

Another thing I'm seeing on the computer's side is at 0 fielding I have been getting a lot of weak grounders down the first base side that go right by the computer granted it was Bautista, but I got 4 hits like that in 2 games, I might bump up the fielding for if to 10-15. Hitting and pitching seem really good.

Joe, if I play on All-Star difficulty, would I need to make any significant changes to your set?

Thanks for the reply, Joe. I like your sliders since you use the R-stick for hitting; I'm not a fan of Classic batting for this game (I use that for The Show, so I like the change of pace) and I like the layout of these sliders.

I'll plug these in and see how it goes. I played a game modifying some sliders on my own and the game played a lot better than the default settings.

The best thing about this years game is...WALKS!!!

I'm pitching hard too..but the Base on Balls is killing me...thank dog it is only spring training!!! Frick I need to be more patient at the plate too!...so excited to smash one out of the park after my first 2k12 smash of the year!!, last game with Torri>.

                          BIGS great job as always!!!.peace

Did anyone else find the outfielders take odd routes to the ball with outfield speed at 0? I like it, but I didn't catch several balls as my player wouldn't go to the icon, he was stuck in a weird path that I couldn't get him out of.

Otherwise, I am flipping between these and Mk's. Both great options. Thanks gents.
