Thank you. I need to get back into my franchise.. been working too much.

Re: MizzouRah - Analog/Pure control pitching 2k12 sliders

I picked this game up on Saturday and managed to get a game of MLB Today (not season mode) in and used this slider set.

Game I played was Giants (CPU) @ Mets. I lost 4-3. I made a couple of bad throwing errors that cost me, as did my inability to capitalize with runners in scoring position. I had the bases loaded in the 9th, but swung at a pitch up in the zone and popped it up to end the game.

I really enjoyed the game, though. I walked four batters and drew three walks, so that was good to see. I may have to increase CPU Pitch Speed a notch as I was early on too many swings.

        Thanks for putting these together.

What kind of K numbers you seeing? It seems I can't find a good balance of hits vs Ks for CPU hitting.

I average about 6-10 K's per game with the Cardinal pitchers.

i tried it for a few games. im not very good at all but as the cubs i got blown out by the brewers twice. im horrible at hitting and really need to try to pitch out of the zone more often. on rookie I can hit great then i turn it up to even pro and I have trouble hitting and scoring. maybe 1 or 2 runs per game 3 at the most. im gonna try these sliders more hopefully they are the answer im looking for. cubs have a weak team anyway, im sure that adds into it as well. too bad nobody makes pro sliders LOL.

dont feel bad about hitting, i stink as well. which i cant figure out lol, all we have to do is tap a button, no aiming etc. ha!!

but, the past two days i have checked this thread and another. started thinking about hitting etc. i have zero patience, thats a HUGE problem i know that.

so here is what i did.

                      i used mk's sliders as a base..

i then toned down the cpu hitting to contact 55 and power 70.. reason being, they put up solid numbers on these for me bc of how i pitch. i tend to stay around the strike zone to much, even with pitcher control at 40, so the above works pretty well.

now, hitting, i stink, ha. so what i did was this. i use the basic all star contact at 45, and use the same power as cpu at 70. i took pitch success down from 75 to 65, and pitch speeds down from 85 to 70 (for both user and cpu). i still had some issues, again bc of patience. i then raised the cpu strike zone from 40 to 60, much better. dont freak, they dont throw meat balls, but are def more around the zone than not.

if you feel the above is to easy after a few games, then all you have to do is lower contact down to say 40 and pitch success up to 70 or 75.

is the above perfect? nope. but it works for me. i tried all these settings with contact at 20, 25 etc, couldn't hit crap. like i said above, if i get better over time, i can just lower contact and raise pitch success. everything else i leave the same, fielding, running, etc.

doesnt seem like a slider set based off of all star will work for me. I cant really even hit on pro.

then adjust the hitting to a level between rookie and pro..

Being patient helps, I walked 3 times last game.

                            v2 is up!

Increased pitcher speed +5 to 65 (I didn't feel like 95+ MPH fastballs were well, 95+ MPH fastballs) I increased for both the CPU and Human.

Infielder and outfielder running speed reduced -5 to 10 for both CPU and Human. On hard shots to the gaps, average fielders were still getting to too many balls. I think it's because hits hang up in the air too much, but this should help. I want to know a great OF when I see them.

Infielders are still diving and getting to too many balls, reducing to 10 should help.

That's it, I'm really happy with everything else right now. Lost to the Brewers 4-2 in a great game, finally hit a BOMB using the POWER swing and Lance Berkman.

Main thing people need to do is play numerous games against different opponents to really get a feel for sliders in baseball. I have made it to all-star break, and will posting results soon here and in franchise progress thread.
