No, other than Bigfnjoe's change to 35 for pitch break. I may try dropping to 30, but upping the AI contact to 60 has kept things accurate so far. My last game against the Tigers I had 9 k's and 5 walks. Pretty accurate for the Orioles pitching staff.

However, some of the deep fly balls do seem to hang up, you could maybe even snag some of them with a USER OF speed = 0. I see decent variety of both.

The only changes to the sliders I PM'ed you/posted about recently are:

-I turned the USER and CPU contact slider down to 40 from 45. (I think I mentioned this before).

-I turned the USER and CPU gather error down to 40. I was starting to see too many bobbles for my liking, even if they weren't all leading to errors.

-I turned the USER pitch meter speed up to 80 from 70/75. I wanted to challenge myself pitching a bit more because my K's were realistic but maybe a tad high. However, I didn't want to move USER pitch accuracy since even perfect pitches miss their spot more than 50% of the time on 30. Actually, raising the pitch meter speed has improved my pitching! I max out 10-15 pitches per game now, as opposed to 1-2 when the meter was slower. I think my reflexes were just too jumpy for a slower meter speed.

For now, I am done with slider tweaks unless I start to see something majorly out of place statistically. Really, it seems to play exactly to my liking now. The only things I can even see possibly doing at some point would be: (1) turning the pitch break down to 30; (2) turning USER/CPU contact down to 35 IF both offenses get too strong; or (3) turning the CPU pitch speed up to 80/85 if my offense only gets too good. I'd put the odds of me making any of these changes at less than 50:50, and not until after I finish playing out April in my 'chise anyway--I really want to have a solid chunk of games/stats to look at before making changes first, especially since I was tweaking so much during ST.

I already know 80 for power is too low and 90 is too high for me. I'm not moving the pitch success slider either, so there are very few options left to tweak to finish nailing down the batting/pitching interface in this set ().

Going to roll with these 1.0 sliders and enjoy the game
I'll check these out.. probably going to start a serious franchise with the Cardinals once 2k has an opening day set.

Great discussion guys. I am also waiting on a roster update before I start my franchise.

I'm also trying to figure out if I'm doing an MLB Today season or a franchise

Which camera position are you guys using on pitching? (1,2,3 or broadcast)?

The OP is a valuable resource in these slider threads and often contain all the info you want to know.

As an alternative setting, I use something like Pitcher, zoom 7, position 3, height 5, with pitcher handedness dictating the side. This lets you have a closer look at the plate, which I like since I turn the strikezone off.

Good mix of hits, power and scores after about 10 games. Seemed a little easy to hit after a few games but it has balance out nicely.

Great sliders!!! My only issue is fatigue how are you having realistic results at that number, every game the cpu takes out there starter around 60 pitches.pretty annoying. Any suggestions? Ive tried raising and lowering it and still same results not sure which way the fatigue setting supppse to work the higher the number the faster they fatigue? Or the higher the number the longer it takes to get tired?

I played my first game, started a franchise with the braves

Our first series is against the phillies lost 6-3..

                    Holliday had 4 KO 3ER 7.0IP
                    Medler had 8KO 2ER 5.2IP

I hit two home runs, few groundouts and lots of pop outs. I'll continue to use these for about 4 more games.

The higher the fatigue slider, the faster the pitcher will get tired, so you don't want to go any higher. I play on default setting of 50 for that slider, and it works well for me. I have yet to throw a CG, but have gone 8.1 IP once. So, it seems to play true to the fact that CGs are rare these days. I also don't really have any pitchers that would get CGs on a regular basis.

I don't generally see the CPU pitcher lifted at 60 pitches, unless I am hammering him. The CPU bases this decision both on pitch count (each pitcher has a pitch cap range which you can see from the pause screen) and on performance.

Are you playing with an NL team? I am 'chising with the Astros, so I have only seen AL teams so far in the regular season. It would be interesting to see if the CPU had a quick hook due to pinch hitters etc..

Short story; turn the pitcher fatigue slider down to your liking.

As a lot of the regulars already know, I am using a slider set based loosely on BIGFNJOE96's set here in this thread. I played all of Spring Training adjusting the sliders to where I have them now. I am now 15 games into the regular season of my Astros 'chise, and it's very worth posting some TEAM-WIDE stats. I am getting INCREDIBLE and AMAZING results! I have never gotten this close to sim-like stats in any baseball game ever on any console. Not for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, N64, Playstation, PS2, or XBox 360. Not even for GameBoy, lol. I have logged hours and hours on games like RBI Baseball, Baseball Simulator 3000, World Series Baseball, Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball, High Heat, MLB2K, MVP04, MLB The Show over the course of my life (a full life I've lived so far, lol). But don't take my word for it, look at these stats...(note I am comparing my 'chise stats to Astros stats from 2012)

                        WOW

Note I have bolded a couple categories that are quite different. Notably, I strike out much less than the Astros did last year (~1/2 the amount). I also hit much better with RISP (.313 vs .234) which explains why I score nearly half a run more per game so far. I am not sure how to explain this, other than I am better at making contact, especially when it really matters (duh). Also, my triple rate is about 2x what it was last year. I can explain this easily; I had a 3 triple game already!!! A freak occurrence for sure.

BUT, I don't think I need to change any sliders for a couple of reasons. (1) All the triple slash lines are so close. Whether I am K'ing more or grounding out more, as long as the offensive numbers aren't overinflated, it's cool with me. (2) I have not faced many strikeout pitchers yet. Aside from Darvish and Weaver (kind of), I have faced guys like Beavan, Iwakuma, Harrison, Milone, Colon (2x), Brett Anderson (2x), Blanton etc...So I expect my K rate to increase as I face tougher pitching. So, I think it's safe to say I've found my exact sliders!!!

Oh and my record is 8-7 thru 15 games. The Astros were 5-10 thru 15 games last year. Could this be a miracle season and could those RISP numbers actually hold up all year? To be continued in the franchise progress thread............

Very nice! You can't expect all stat categories in a video game to be spot on, but I love what I see here.

Are the sliders you posted a page or so back still the ones you are using or are there any changes?

I'm just waiting on an opening day roster and then it's on with my Cardinals!

Get Ankiel into that lineup, what a BOMB last night!!!

Get Ankiel into that lineup, what a BOMB last night!!!
Yeah, it doesn't have to be perfect, but as perfect as possible.

No changes at all. Well, ok I lied, no changes to the batting/pitching interface. I did decrease CPU baserunning aggression by 5 and CPU steal aggression by 5 since they were a bit reckless trying to stretch doubles into triples and were stealing in some odd situations.

I no longer have Ankiel in my 'chise. Never been a fan of his since he started throwing pitches into the net his rookie year, though the HR he had was nice.

That poor kid went through some tough times with his parents..

Can you start a thread with your settings you are currently using? I want to match mine up again before I get started with my Cardinals chise.

I know I'm using a mixture of yours and BIGFNJOE's.
