Gallandro, I've played 6 games with Human Error @ 25. No pass balls. Less errors then before. Test it out for yourself. Also I've been testing AI Take Strikes Overall & Behind @ 70. This seems to give a good balance of called 3rd strikes. By the way your slider set looks great. I will test them & let you know what happens. Probably tommorow night though. Good Job & great observation of the 50(default seeting) by the way would you mine If I posted these on the 2Ksports website. So can get more people to try them out?

No that would be great... I tried registering yesterday, but you have to wait for Admin approval. Anyway, I am going to try bumping down the Human error setting as well and see how that goes. Again fantastic job Joe!!!

I will post them tomorrow, gotta get ready for bed.

          I will call the sliders:

          BigFnJoe & Gallandro's MLB 2K5 Realism Sliders.

          How's that sound?

Well I set Overall to 70 and Behind to 70 and the CPU took 2 called strike threes. I was using Brandon Webb with his wicked sinker against the Nationals. In one instance the batter just watched the sinker drop to the corner of the zone. In the second instance Jose Vidro took a check swing but was called out... it was great.

So I think that's a good setting... 65 overall may be just a tad low.

Also I bumped up AI Fielding Aggression to 40 (I was still seeing one too many goofed dribbling grounders by the pitcher), and that seems good, but I turned down AI Throwing aggression back to your setting of 10 (I had a couple of plays where the right fielder tried to pick off the batter at the bag after a line drive to the outfield (sure you see it once in a while in pro baseball... but very, very rarely) so I dialed it down.

One other thing we might consider is bumping up AI Sacrifice Bunt... I really haven't seen many in the game (heck only one so far), and that is a much more common occurance in real life.

What kind of strikeout numbers are you posting Gallandro and BigFnJoe? And, what is the difference between like your stud strikeout pitcher throwing, and then your guy that just gets ground ball outs?

Most of the sliders I've been testing lately haven't been open enough to large differences in strikeout numbers. It's annoying when I pitch 3 or 4 games with Prior or Wood and am incapable of cracking 10 strikeouts in any of them (and usually topping out around 8).

Just a few new box score lines and pitcher info from your games would help, I've been tweaking at my own sliders, using some of the ones from here, but just can't find the right fit yet.

Well I just finished 3 games against the Washington Nationals using Brandon Webb.

First game Webb pitched a gem giving up 1 run in 8 innings of work. He gave up 6 hits, stuck out six, and walked three.

Second game Webb gave up 3 runs in 6 innings. 8 hits, 4 Ks and a walk

Third game I pulled webb after 5 innings. He gave up four runs on 7 hits, struck out 5 and walked 3.

In real life Brandon Webb averages a little over 5 Ks a game (I averaged 5), and 3 BB per game (I averaged 2 per)... pretty good results. I've also been averaging about 6 Ks a game with Javiar Vazquez (he averages about 5.7 a game). So all-in-all I think these sliders have given me really good results.

You really have to look at the averages when determining if these sliders are going to work for you, for example you used Kerry Wood and his ability to throw more than 10ks in a game... but look at his carrer average... in 164 games he has 1209 Ks which averages to 7.37 Ks per game... Now with Vazquez I have been able to throw over 10 Ks twice, once for 12 Ks, and another for 11 Ks, but I really had to work the corners and mix up my pitches and try to get the CPU to swing at bad pitches.

Don't worry you'll get it down.
