Here is an example of what the Create Player profiles will look like. These are for CREATED players only. They will have all of the info needed to make them on your own. For the ratings, I will use GForce's 3 year model to scale the ratings I give each CREATED player.

I will use this three-year average to assess what ratings to give him (as you can see, Damian Miller is on the decline).

    A few things:

    -- your link doesn't work

-- I'm not really sure why you're basically trying to duplicate what I'm doing with the ratings.

-- There's a lot factored into my 3-year ratings that you wouldn't be using. They aren't just straight splits, but factor and weight different variables as part of the formula.

      1) If you read my last post, it explains why the link doesn't work at the moment.
      2) I am not duplicating what you're doing. I liked your model and since I did not have one of my own, I decided to modify yours because I didn't agree with how you were doing yours. Don't worry about what I am doing. My results will not be the same as yours, thus I am not duplicating what you're doing. I don't know why you have to hound me like a child. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with because not everyone is going to agree with my ratings and not everyone is going to agree with yours. I just hope this gives them an idea of what to do when they make their own guys. I could care less what you do.

            1) which is fine, I responded to your post when I read it but got delayed with work stuff before I finished it and didn't see the responses.
            2) You say you didn't agree with how I was doing mine but yet you take what you perceive as my model as the basis for yours (even though you supposedly were doing rosters before I mentioned my work). But besides that, I haven't even posted how I am doing mine or the variables in it, just a REALLY rough example that I said didn't even begin to get into how I actually develop ratings, which is why I've posted no ratings yet. To say you could care less what I do but then take my model (which in one time you say you like and the next say you don't) doesn't really make much sense. You just seem like you've been trying to latch to my work since I got here, from badgering me about tying to your site to saying you'll be posting ratings based on my formulas...if you had a plan before I came along stick with that and do things your own way, not building off what I do. I've dealt with people with High Heat and OOTP who have taken my work, changed a few things and passed it off as their own. You seem to be trying to latch to what I'm doing, and you should come up with your own methods and build off that.

You misunderstood me. I liked the basis of your model (developing ratings based upon league leaders, a la A-Rod) but I did not agree with assigning Trot Nixon 100 in any field. I saw potential in your system, which I admit was better than the one I originally thought of using. Instead, I decided to try to counter the flaws I saw in your rating system.

When I said I don't care what you're doing, I mean, I am not going to be duplicating your work. People in science base their work off of the work of others in their field. I never adopted "my system" as my own. Any time I mentioned what I was doing I said "modified verions of GForce's 3-year model" or something of that effect. I liked the means but not the outcome. I wanted to refine what you had explained before so that I would feel the outcome was more suitable.

Think what you want, I had planned on giving you the credit for the basis of my rating system. I still am and will continue to refer to it as a modified version of yours. My system may not take into account variables such as weather conditions but it will be based off of statistics, as you explained.

For instance, say A-Rod's power is 97 against left-handed pitching. Assuming he has the highest number of homeruns against left-handed pitching, but his rating techinically would not be the ceiling. Treating his 97 as if it were 100 would slightly increase the ratings of those below him. I am aiming for realistic ratings that will produce similar batting averages, home runs, etc. based upon the performance of the real player.

Consider my adoption and modification of your system flattering. You made really good points but I just did not agree with your final result. Hopefully, you understand what I mean and will see our final products will not be the same.

Please remember that I don't mean any disrespect at all. It may come off like it but I really admire and respect your work. I honestly believe that your system is a great foundation but I just did not agree with your final product.

I look forward to saving two roster files - yours and mine - and I will simulate a few seasons with both and will compare the results with you.
