    Re: Create/Edit Player Options

Please remember that I don't mean any disrespect at all. It may come off like it but I really admire and respect your work. I honestly believe that your system is a great foundation but I just did not agree with your final product.

I look forward to saving two roster files - yours and mine - and I will simulate a few seasons with both and will compare the results with you.

skyline and gforce, thanks for all the hard work.

I look forward to seeing the player ratings, as I will have to do it all myself on ps2.

No problem man. I can't speak for GForce but helping you guys out helps me because I may overlook something that someone clear across the country may pick up on and it will only make the game that much better. I hope to have a few created players completely done within the first week. I am going to be experimenting with the simulation in MVP. I will make a few guys (Damian Miller, Cory Lidle, etc.) and simulate a season to test them. The idea is to make sure he will achieve the stats he does in real life. One tough thing is going to be trying to capture their batting stances or pitching wind-ups, I believe. If any of you find a picture of the batting stances of the non-MLBPA players listed on my website, please let me know because any bit will help authenticating each creation.

And I didn't agree with assigning Nixon a 100 either, which I said in the post. It was designed as a fleshing out of ideas on the ratings, along with a later example, both of which I said I didn't agree with. Believe me, I've done this a LONG time with very accurate results. Trot Nixon will not be seeing 100, and I made that pretty clear. Which is why, when you say you disagree with my final result and use the Nixon reference, it's inaccurate because that is by no means the final result. There are many variables in my ratings that weren't even reflected in that example, and that was said as well. By calling that my final result, you're essentially given an incorrect impression that my ratings are flawed based on data I said was not going to be the final result. Others reading you saying that may think that WAS the final result of my ratings, which cuts down my work by making it out like my ratings system is flawed. With things like park effects, which I factor in to my ratings, absent from the game, everything would need to be adjusted anyway, which is why I have said several times I can't go getting into what my ratings are until I have the game.
