Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
I know how personally the people that work on this take any perceived criticism, so I want to be absolutely clear that this is just a question, with no ill intent -
Why is this coming out now, when the season is nearly over? It seems like the biggest audience for this mod would be around spring training. I seem to remember other versions coming out well after the season started as well. -
Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
It takes multiple people to step up and do a project like this. That was not in place at that time. Along the season, various people stepped up doing components, but still no organizer. Thanks to dennisjames who was working on other components unbeknownst to us, it then looked as if we had enough to do it now.
And to rebut your statement about interest, actually it could be said that with the playoffs looming, this is the time of year when people start to pique their interest in baseball, especially the casual watchers. Also, the rosters could not have attributes based on this year's stats and therefore have better representation of how players are playing now.Comment

Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
I'm out of a baseball mood right now, but I'll definitely check this out when spring training rolls around.Comment

Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
No, but technically you can convert and import things, but it would take some doing. If I remember correctly the cyberfaces weren't quite as high in number. But there are still tools to convert portraits and the like. And I believe nothing special had to be done to the rosters other than watching the higher numbers on the cyberfaces so it doesn't freeze.
There are Xbox converting tools available and if the links are dead at MVPmods, I still have them I believe.
Also.... new menu text and in-game text files and initial splash screens for MVP14 are now available.
That's too bad because after tomorrow it's going to be $49.95Comment

Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
Someone wanted me to make a roster (before I put the most updated one out) of how I thought the teams would look at the start of Spring training next year! Hehe....can you imagine the research that would take and probably how wrong it would be anyway?? Oh, those crazy baseball fans.
Also, a new CPU v CPU roster set will probably be released a little later which reflects current season ending injuries, unless I missed some over the past few days.

Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
got a copy off of Ebay, a bit pricey as there was a few bidders but well worth it, with all the hardwork and mods you guys do over there, I should be getting it by Friday.
Daflyboys, I tried to find a thread on MVPMods but I couldn't find one, so I'll ask it here as I'm waiting to be approved.
is it possible to run an XP copy in a virtual machine and run the game? just curious to see if it would enhance or degrade the experience.
thanksComment

Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
What's an XP copy? Are you talking about making a legal backup and then running off of that? If you're worried about running your original disc and wearing it down, that won't happen. The disc is only needed to boot the game, not run it.
If I'm not in the ballpark (get it?), just PM me.Comment

Re: MVP 14 Total Conversion Mod!!!!
thanks for the quick reply and yeah I get it
what I meant was I still have my Windows XP discs and I was thinking of maybe installing that operating system on my current machine and trying to run MVP that way, and I hadn't thought of backing up the MVP disc, it wouldn't feel right if I did that.
appreciate the time.Comment
