actually, whoever mentioned playing more metal (old metallica) and top-20 hits would be more accurate in assessing what's played at baseball stadiums during baseball games. baseball players are jocks. they like that stuff. and, secondly, indie is not a genre...but i get what you're saying - less commercial crap/better music. i, personally, like the ability to customize my own soundtrack (i.e.: espn NFL 2k5) and this would be good to actually implement into EA games.

well the big gripe is that there are NO custom soundtracks this year.

i really don't mind either way but most people do. you could always turn it off i guess.

oh and that davey havok comment was just a figure of speech. all i meant was that 8 years ago i never would have imagined afi in a sports video game

Whoever said Built to Spill, I second that one. BTS is an awesome band, their live CD is awesome, especially their 20 minute version of "Cortez the Killer". Postal Service is also a good suggestion, but I dont really see EA choosing that cause it's not really pump up, motivational music that will you get you hyped to play your next game, but then again, you cant say that much of their choices are.

Sorry to veer this discussion away from everyone's personal favorites, and how much the "EA Trax" sucks, but does anyone know the name of the song that has been in most of the EA trailer, like the classic uniforms one. The one that start "Ready, 1 2 3 ." I Googled everything close to that, and have found nothing.

I'm sorry, but anyone that thought that last year's soundtrack was the best is insane. That wasn't music....it was people singing one line over and over and over again until the end of time. I swear to god, every time I heard that "things were good when we were young" song I had an urge to throw something at the TV...the same 3 keys of music and the same verse sung over 50 times in one 2 minute song is NOT MUSIC....IT'S PEOPLE BEING OVERLY ANNOYING AND SELLING IT AS MUSIC....I have to agree with that guy who made the comment about Roseanne sounding better than that crap. It's funny, though, listening to youngins trying to reinvent genres and calling real rock and metal music "emo" . In all seriousness, realistically, a good mix of realistic to the sport songs would be a mix of Rap, Metal, R&B, and Country. I don't really see how anyone could hate "The Natural" music, even after hearing it time and time again....because the way it starts and ends is almost seamless....you can barely tell, and as such it's hard to be annoyed by one song playing over and over again. Trustcompany had the most bearable song on the track last year, and even IT was unbearable! People, this isn't New Rock....it's....as you youngins like to put it nowadays....EMO....and if it's not emo it's severely WANNABE PUNK ROCK...and nothing is worse than that. Having grown up in Seattle, I can tell you I've heard my fair share of whiney musicians whining about crap that doesn't matter, and I heard it often (sometimes they'd play it 3 times in one hour on the radio)....and I sure as hell don't want to hear it anymore....whiney rock gets HELLA annoying after you've heard it nonstop for years....Ultimately my point would be that if the band performing the song can't form a song with at least 50 different words in it, that tells some sort of story or at least makesa point, it's NOT MUSIC!!!! EA SERIOUSLY needs to revamp their soundtrack choices...in reality I seriously doubt they will, but I can hope, can't I?
