I don't mean to split hairs, but I would say that indie-rock specifically is a genre, an offshoot of the more generalized and all encompassing genres of rock and within that, alternative.. which you can then whittle down into more specialized subdivisions like shoegaze, dream pop, etc(which would branch off of indie-rock or whatever). Apologies in advance for being such a stickler over such a trivial issue.
As for the soundtrack to MVP 2005..I don't care much for any of the featured artists.. And I can't help but be annoyed that EA has yet to allow the user the ability to utilize the custom soundtrack feature...

It's funny, though, listening to youngins trying to reinvent genres and calling real rock and metal music "emo" . In all seriousness, realistically, a good mix of realistic to the sport songs would be a mix of Rap, Metal, R&B, and Country. I don't really see how anyone could hate "The Natural" music, even after hearing it time and time again....because the way it starts and ends is almost seamless....you can barely tell, and as such it's hard to be annoyed by one song playing over and over again. Trustcompany had the most bearable song on the track last year, and even IT was unbearable! People, this isn't New Rock....it's....as you youngins like to put it nowadays....EMO....and if it's not emo it's severely WANNABE PUNK ROCK...and nothing is worse than that. Having grown up in Seattle, I can tell you I've heard my fair share of whiney musicians whining about crap that doesn't matter, and I heard it often (sometimes they'd play it 3 times in one hour on the radio)....and I sure as hell don't want to hear it anymore....whiney rock gets HELLA annoying after you've heard it nonstop for years....Ultimately my point would be that if the band performing the song can't form a song with at least 50 different words in it, that tells some sort of story or at least makesa point, it's NOT MUSIC!!!! EA SERIOUSLY needs to revamp their soundtrack choices...in reality I seriously doubt they will, but I can hope, can't I?

Re: Song List for MVP Baseball 2005!!!

having the music on did nothing but slow my menu screens down (xbox) and make player editing an unenjoyable chore, cause one in every 3 times it would freeze and give me the DDE, and when it didnt it would run slow. So i turned them off and turned on my stereo instead and the game ran fine... I hope what ever caused the slowdown and the DDE has been resolved so that way I can give the music a chance (but if the movies are any indication, the soundtrack is not up my alley) I do admit though....I will miss hearing that guy sing about his "coco".
