Well I have mine set to -35 control, and I always walk a few guys a game. I don't think it's easy by any means.

Problem is, the last few games, I've walked none. I can almost swear there was a time when I was walking a couple batters per game, but now I'm starting to 2nd guess myself.
I love the way this game plays: incredible variety of hits and foul balls. Love the bloopers and bleeders. Love the high pitch counts and the fact that I can draw walks.
Just wish pitching was harder.Comment

Re: Pitching Meter Too Easy
Another way to make pitching more challenging after you have done all the slider adjustments is to try pitching from the behind the pitcher view.
Also, turn off strike zone, pitch cursor to fade or off, and vibration off. The strike zone is smaller and you will have to pitch more by feel.
Try it and see if it works for you. I think you will have trouble hitting your spots, not because you can't nail the green zone on the meter, but because your spots are harder to locate without the cursor and vibration.

Re: Pitching Meter Too Easy
to me its the only thing left wrong with mvp...to much control...
anyway...the fix is for pc only...pc is the only way to play mvp because all the faults can be altered or at least tempered....and it comes close to sim status with the mods....
btw there is a new hh batting view mod and it rocks!!! you can see the ball soooo much better. I actually walked 6 guys with spitoons mod i need to get my pitvch counts up a bit ....and ill be happy! probably tweak back the meter difficulty a bit....
spitoons mod gives all the walks you could want but you loose some k's for it.Comment

Everything else in gameplay is great.
I play on Pro. Would I be more likely to miss my spots on All Star level?Comment

Re: Pitching Meter Too Easy
i do not have a single aid on, lol and if i was playing the default game i wouldnt walk a single batter. the only way you walk anyone in this game is with spitoons fix.

Re: Pitching Meter Too Easy
Yeah spitoon's mod is great...YOu will be almost guantaeed to give up walks.
For those who don't have PC, turn off all pitching aids including the pithcing cursor. (and maybe pitch from the BTP view). I know with some people that still doesnt make a difference but if your refleces are like mine, I find I will give up 2-3 walks a game that way especially in a close game simply because its harder to paint the corners with pinpoint accuracy. And if you use BTP, youll want to avoid the strike zone alot because its easy to get bombed by accidently hitting a guys hot zone.
I think MVPs system is part of its strength and weakeness. ITs compelling because it gives you lots of control in pitching whch I think appeals to lots of casual baseball gamers. However, when you get good it becomes a weakness due to lack of walks (if that kind of thing bothers you).Comment
