Well if that isn't a blown call, I don't know what is....

JD Drew is up, and I hit a ground ball over to Richie Sexson at first. Sexson runs over and steps on 1B, with Drew no more than about 3/4 of the way down the line.

Drew keeps on chugging and does the stretch/jump thing. And is called safe.

This after in the previous inning, Sexson was never tagged out on a groundball, and the pitcher (who picked up the ball) never stepped on 1st base.

Whoa. Something is up now. Next batter is Wily Mo Pena. He hits a grounder to thirde, the 3B throws to 2nd for the force, the 2B throws to 1st to complete the double play. However, Pena is called safe at 1st, when he is clearly out. Bug?

EA really messed up on the calls at home. I will use a certain slide and watch teh replay that shows that I clearly avoided the tag and I have my manager come steamin' out of the dugout and gets ejected and my players think I'm an idiot.

I love the sweet tags at home that they added, but what the point if I use one and use it succesfully, avoiding the tag, and then are still called out?

The homeplate tagging animations, the plague of last years game, have been fixed, but the players still have strange 'hit boxes' (taking the phrase from online shooting games, the boxes that surround player models that actually relay the data--the models themselves don't do this)... Sometimes, a player will be called out on a slide into home when he's not touched, but the throw is usually there before the player and the tag would have tagged him in time, but because the animations go for the hit boxes, not the models, it looks incorrect. This isn't a problem of MVP as it is a problem of Video Games in general... and because it's not real, it will take a while for video games to reach that level of realism.

Usually, in the slides into home plate, if you were to chose a different slide (rather than the slide where the player doesn't tag the base until very late), he would have been safe. I usually slide in Feet First at home plate and he's safe on the close plays, but when I accidentilly use the head first/around the bag slide/tag ... he'll be tagged out.

As for the first base problem...
In one game against a friend, an Asian First Baseman ... I'm blanking on his name even though I know it ... like Ho Choi, but not Ho Choi ... it's something else (I'm just drawing a random blank) kept "leaving the bag" on close throws. Throw would be on target, seems to be perfect and he'd be "pulled off the bag" as the announcer would say. It happened on four straight plays with nothing overtly visual going on (though he WAS NOT on the base, the throws were normal)... It was the only time it happened and it didn't happen again after that inning.

                    It was weird though.

ive had 3 plays in a row where texeira was coming off the bag on perfect throws. the announcer even made mention of a nice throw rey sanchez made to first, when texeira came off the bag for no reason anyways.

i played an entire season without seeing this, but now, in the 6th game of season 2, sexson had 6 straight plays where he "missed" first base. after that, it didnt happen again. still, very strange
