    That would explain it.

Then no, no starter has won less than 16 games and won the Cy Young. I know there a few 16 game winners though.

Clemens got shafted again today... bad defense and zero offense.

How many games do you think he would have won by now on a team like the White Sox or Yankees?

        Re: Roger Clemens...

Clemens was again the victim of zero run support. That marks the eighth time this season where the Astros have scored no runs in a Clemens start.

This is so uncanny it is getting to the point of being beyond explanation.

Could be worse. Nolan Ryan lead the NL in ERA in 87 and went 8-16. At least Clemens is winning some games, lol.

Well, he's made 27 starts now and has an ERA of 1.51. Roger has allowed 3 or more earned runs in a start 3 times this season (one time of 3, 4 and 5). I would say if he were on a decent offensive team he would be somewhere between 17-5 and 21-3.

Strange, I never got the impression that Roger liked to play in Toronto, or liked the team. I believed that Roger and the former Jays management had disagreements over contract extensions and such.

Well considering he didn't negotiate with Gord Ash, the relationship was due to fail. I think he only came to Toronto to rebuild his reputation as a great pitcher. Roger's agent made a big deal about contract extension and such but the Jays were cutting payroll at the time so he was bound to leave.

It was a crazy rumour at the time and I doubt it would've happened but it would've been nice to see Roger come back to the AL and mess up the opportunity for Boston and NYY to make the playoffs.
