Re: Mets sign Danny Graves.
Oh geez. As a Reds fan, thank you for taking this guy off our hands. I heard a stat that he hadn't had a 1-2-3 inning since like July of last season. If he is in, it's a guarantee that 2 guys will be on base AT LEAST every time out. He's lost 7-8 MPH off his fastball and he's just plain bad. Good luck with that.Comment

For a guy struggling with his stuff who clearly has a problem with negative fan reaction directed towards him, you have to wonder how he'll fare in the pressure cooker that is New York....Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Here's the real test. If the Mets pitching coach can help Graves get back to form it "proves" what many Reds fans have been saying for a while. Gullet needs to go.
Here's hoping Danny success in NY.... but I'm afraid that Skerik is on the nose on this one. He had problems with being boo'd at home....Comment

But seriously....nobody here is even talking about him. Considering how totally ineffective he was and the fact that everyone wanted Madson in the setup role anyway, we're kind of taking a "we'll see you when we see you" attitude towards him.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Mets sign Danny Graves.
It's going to be interesting how he deals with the fans at Shea. If he couldn't handle the booing at Great American, I have no idea how he will react to getting booed at Shea Stadium.
It's going to be interesting to see if he does well or flops.Clemson Tigers
Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Reds

Graves may do well in Shea, the ball does not travel nearly as well as it does at the Great American Ballpark, he also will not have the pressure of being the Closer as he will set up Braden Looper.
The Mets had to make this move. Roberto Hernandez has been the Mets best reliever...but he's 40 years old!, he has already pitched in 26 games and is on pace for well over 80 appearences. Graves will give them another solid arm in the pen so that maybe they will not have to use Hernandez so much.
The N.L East is only seperated by 2.5 games from 1st to last, these are the moves that may help a team pull away.Comment
