Re: Trade Rumors Thread
Gary Sheffield
It doesn't look like Gary Sheffield is going to the Mets, but the Marlins could make a push for the slugger by offering A.J. Burnett and Juan Encarnacion
A.J. Burnett is drawing plenty of interest from the AL East, where the Yankees and Orioles would like to bolster their starting rotations.
The White Sox are interest in Jason Schmidt, but the Giants are asking for a king's ransom for their ace. -
Re: Trade Rumors Thread
I posted something about this in the Reds team thread, but apparently Junior Griffey is close to becoming a Brave. A local sports talk show host said tonight someone with the Reds informed him that a trade involving Griffey and Kyle Davies was on hold at the moment because the Reds wanted more prospects in addition to Davies. Any thoughts?MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames

If the Braves need a left-handed power bat that badly they can go after Helton, who plays a position they need more than CF, they'll likely get cheaper (trade value wise) than Junior, and only costs about $2 million more a year than Griffey.Comment

Re: Trade Rumors Thread
Knowing the reds we'll get a few minor leaguers that will end up doing nothing, in exchange for griffey. Anyways I can't see this happening mainly because the braves have andruw jones, the hottest player in baseball (aside from Lee) and as far as I know Griffey has barely played any other position.Comment

Originally posted by SquintThat doesn't sound like a Schuerholz type trade. An outstanding pitching prospect for an aging, injury-prone outfielder who has played less than 10 games at any other position than CF and the Braves already have Andruw Jones there.
