He's been jovial, motivated, and a leading candidate for the Cy Young so far.
Pedro got a bad rap towards the end of his career in Boston. For some reason, many viewed him as unreliable but when you look at his stats, he's been as good as any pitcher in baseball over the last 10 or so years.

Pedro's '99 and '00 seasons rank as 2 of the best seasons ever. He is one of my all-time favorite Sox players and is probably the best pitcher I will ever see. The Mets are lucky to have a pitcher of his caliber, even if it is towards the end of his career. I think most people would be hard pressed to name 5 pitchers they'd rather have over Pedro Martinez.

That is a good point Chaos. How are you anyways? I think he should bat 2nd like he did in Houston. He was a terror at the end of the year and in the playoffs. Looking at their lineup though they might not have anyone else to bat 3rd or fourth if he isnt there. It would be a waste to neglect his SB abilty.

I agree. If I were the Mets this would be my line-up...

Cameron, Beltran, Floyd, Piazza, Wright, Reyes, Mientkewskiwich, Matsui...

I'd even consider swapping Wright and Piazza. David Wright kicks ***.

Ya I wish the Cubs would have made the Sammy for Floyd trade now, and yes David Wright is quite the player. FInally the Mets developed a offensive player. Ya I just cant see Beltran not stealing, he needs to bat 2nd.

Woo-hoo, woo-hoo, I made a good point. Sorry, I'm a little strange what can I say. I'm doing pretty good. Ready for football to start thought.

Hmmm...you could be right. I don't know, haven't payed much attention to the Mets. I do agree with you they need to move him up to second though.

This has become Pedro's team. I have to get out to see this guy pitch in person one day. He is one of those great talents you have to see live at least one time.

I have always liked him and I thought (and obviously still think) the Mets got the best available pitcher on the market this year. Did we over pay? Maybe. But it was one of the best FA pick ups the Mets EVER made.
