VOTE for Podsednik!
I'd say overall Matsui's numbers are the best. Highest average and slugging percentage, most RBI, 2nd most HR and tied for 2nd most in runs. He has the most runs produced when you add RBI and runs and subtract HR (Matsui - 99, Hunter - 87, Jeter - 86, Crawford - 83, Podsednik - 60).
That being said, Hunter is my guy and I voted for him so do as you wish as well.Minnesota Vikings

Anyways, I chose Oswalt and Jeter without any hesitation. Oswalts 2.44ERA 1.05 WHIP 3CG/1SHO and 11W for the offensive challenged Houston Astros has All-Star written all over itI do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can'tComment

Re: Last All-Star spot.
Originally posted by bender_over40 SB and only 44 runs. Add his runs and RBI and he has 60 total. Jeter has that in just runs and Matsui has that in just RBI. A .280 average is mediocre at best for a leadoff hitter with 0 HR.
If he gets voted in because of his SB's, it will make me think of MVP with it's MVP voting.Comment

Re: Last All-Star spot.
Well I'd be more worried about Podsednik's OBP. .357 isn't terrible, but you want better from a leadoff guy.Comment

Re: Last All-Star spot.
I think Podsednik would be the best choice. Francona can use him or Ichiro as a pinch runner late in the game to steal a needed base should the game be tied or close in the 8th/9th. I suppose Jeter could also function in this role.
At this point, I don't see much point on picking the guy based on merit, they're all relatively equaivalent, or so it seems.Comment
