Everyone seems to be including his stats from the his last seven games when I'm quite sure the player's voting and possibly even most of the manager's selections had been completed. Hafner has had 5 HR's, 15 RBI, and 15 hits in his last seven games (most of that has actually come in the last four days). It is a little deceiving to post his stats (especially the HR's) when last week he had 12 HR's and 42 RBI's in asking whether or not he was snubbed.
I was about to make that point...I thought of it last night but decided to go to bed and you beat me to it.

Absolutely. He definitely deserves to be there over Konerko and even Teixeira if you count him as a 1B. I think Hafner and Ortiz have been virtually even in value this year, but there's no question that Hafner at least deserves the backup DH slot.

Hafner over Mark? I can see Konerko but in no way does Hafner deserve to be there over Mark.

Plus, I don't know what you mean about Hafner/Ortiz being even in value, but there is no way you can say Hafner is on Ortiz's level as a DH. Big Papi is the best DH in the league, bar none.

of course he got all his stats the last couple days, but I wasn't gonna point that out. But still he was having a better year and he was just average and his stats were better than Hillenbrand.

You asked if he was snubbed. Snubbed, to me at least, means unjustly overlooked or passed over. Hillenbrand's preformance was so far behind Hafner's (at the time) that would make me consider Hafner's non-selection a "snubbing".

                Re: Was Travis Hafner snubbed?

I'm not saying Hafner is bad, but Mark has been consistent this season, a week or so ago when players stopped voting, hafner didn't deserve to be in the all-star game, it's that simple.

PS, I hate to say it but HR/RBI are the most looked at stats, other than average.

Teixeira- 22 HR(Leads AL, T-3rd in ML) 65 RBI(4th in the AL, 4th in ML)
                Ortiz - 19 HR, 68 RBI(2nd in AL, 2nd in ML)
                Hafner- 17, 57

I mean, you wont find many voters looking for the players OPS, or Slug pct, which is the only category hafner leads in.(He beats Mark in average, but that .314 to .313 over Ortiz is sort of a wash)

Again, take into account Hafner's numbers prior to the selections:

                  Avg: .293
                  OBP: .342
                  SLG: .526
                  OPS: .868

I won't post Teixiera's numbers prior to the selection because his averages have decreased since then.

Kind of puts a different spin on it, doesn't it?

True. I was more comparing their first half performances than knocking the voters.
