I was willing to wait and see when I heard the Sox were considering this. I was thinking though that it probably was a bit too fast to call him up, with a huge series against the Yankees, you have to try to have any advantage you can get. He started strong against Sheffield, then just went very flat and gave Sheffield a pitch to hit on a 2 strike count, and served up that pitch to A-Rod. He did get the next three outs, though.

Maybe in the long run he is better off as a starter, and I hope this is a temporary decision. Seeing the Yankees name in the win column makes me sad, after all, and I was quick to jump on it . I do think he probably needed a couple more rehab starts before the final decision was made. The Sox simply were painted in a corner with Foulke being hurt and not having very many options outside of Schilling.

Lets wait more than 1 apperance before we start voicing our opinions, though if anything Schilling should lose some weight to take some stress off of the ankle.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

Much better outing for Schilling, going 1,2,3 in the 9th. However, he came in being down 3 runs.
