Sour grapes from Cleveland Indians DH Travis Hafner

With Travis Hafner (mild concussion, facial contusion) out of the middle of the lineup, Wedge went with Victor Martinez batting third and Casey Blake fourth. Blake, who ended a 0-for-16 skid with a fourth-inning single, was asked if the White Sox (61-29) are the best team he's seen this season.

"No," he said. "They are a good team, but I don't think they are the best team. They are not better than we are.

Excuse me, but your team is 47-45 and our team is 61-29. Your team is 15 games behind our team and you just got swepted dust broom style by our team. So you do the math.

This one is dedicated to Superstar. Enjoy the middle of the AL Central!

wow a thread dedicated to me? I'm honored. Take delight in what you can, it won't last much longer. It might not be the Indians but the White Sox will get theirs this year. And plunking Travis, not a smart move. I have a feeling Mr. Hafner will be happy to pay back the Sox with a couple dingers the next time our teams meet up.

"Plunking?" It was a change up! And did you see the look of horror that Mark had? Do you honestly think it was on purpose? Why would the Sox do something like that? There was NOTHING going on in the series to even warrant any retalitation for anything. Thanks for hitting Dye, though. It was a nice gift run you gave us.

Yes, the White Sox will "get theirs" this year. Who knows, maybe they will be getting a WS title.

Face it, the Indians were lame ducks and rolled over for the Sox this series.

The Sox will win the division but I don't think they're strong enough to get to the Series. That could change if they get a strong starting pitcher by the deadline tho.

I think they'll win the first round but lose in the ALCS.

to all white sox trolls.... I refuse to respond to your junk you post in hopes of baiting a meltdown out of me. So how about a little bet? I will leave OS forever if the White Sox win the world series only if all white sox fans be banned from the baseball forum if they do not win the series.

I ain't exactly sold on the durability of this rotation throughout the postseason, but Garcia, Buerhle, and Garland are arguably the best 1-2-3 punch in the bigs so far.

I agree to a certain extent. The thing about the Sox is that they're good in all areas but there's nothing great about them at least not yet. They'll be facing teams that have far more playoff experience as well. As i've said they'll probably win a series but lose the ALCS.

That is the stupidiest thing I have ever heard.

And how exactly are we "trolls" anyway? It is not like we go into the Indians thread and talk crap. Hell, we aren't even talking crap now...YOU ARE.

                  1. A thread is dedicated to me, just to make fun of my team. 2. I am called ignorant in another thread. You are trolls. There is nothing to debate. Either agree with the stip or leave me alone.

quit the bickering about the thread and there shouldn't be any kind of "betting" going on.

I'll leave this thread open in case others want to debate the merits of the Sox being a true contending team etc etc.

As much as I would like another "top of the line starter" I think we will be strong in the playoffs AS IS. Garland Buerhle and Garcia are already very consistent and having El Duque in the playoffs will be a huge. That would make Contreras come out of the bullpen.

The only thing we could use is maybe another lefty off the bench with power. We will have Carl on the bench, and Timo Perez (and his post season experience) will be nice, too. However, we need to replace Willie Harris.

I like our chances in the playoffs (gotta get there first).

But only if they can stay healthy.

Where does this come from? Non of them have history of injury, unless you count Garcia's ear thing.

I'm just saying, they'll be good IF they stay healthy. If they happen to go down somewhere down the line, they could be in trouble. The same goes for the main component of any team.

Thats true. Look at the Sox last year. We were going along fine until we lost Maggs and Frank.

Like you said, though, it can happen to any team at anytime.
