I really don't see this trade going down. Just my opinion and you'll hear 800 different things from 800 different people/sites, but I get the feeling this one isn't going to happen. Too many hurdles to jump.

Re: Max Kellerman just reported on espn radio
dunn's stats
G AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO SB CS BA OBP SLG OPS
102 340 73 85 22 2 30 201 67 72 108 3 2 .250 .389 .591 .980
those 30 dingers is cuz of the stadium he plays in.. but bad batting average and strikes out a lot.
manny has about 80 stikeouts only and 28 homers and 92 rbi's much better then dunn..

Yes he does K a lot, but he also walks a lot which is important.
RBI's are tough to judge on single players because to get one, a teammate needs to be on-base (aside from a solo HR). So RBI's are much more of a team stat than an individual stat and not really worth judging on an individual basis.
Simply stated, Dunn and Manny are great players. I wouldn't complain if I saw either of them on my team.Comment

I'd love Manny or Dunn on my team...it looks like I'll have to "settle" for Manny though.Comment

Re: Max Kellerman just reported on espn radio
Dunn is a great player, but if the Reds did trade Dunn they would ask for a crapload of talent in exchange. Dunn is 25 years old and this year he is likely to get 45-50+ Homeruns which is absolutely ridiculous at his age. Also he is a pretty good fielder (IMO) and can draw walks which also resides his worst problem, striking out.
But he is only 25 and I'm sure if he did get traded and that team had a good batting coach Dunn could end up being a guy hitting 45 homeruns and batting 280. Realistically Dunn wont be traded before the deadline, if the Reds do get rid of him it will be in the offseason but even then I think the front office likes Dunn so much that they will resign him for a lot of money.
As for Manny, I just don't think they have enough time to get a big trade together and Manny is just not a guy you can trade straight up for one other player.Comment

Re: Max Kellerman just reported on espn radio
Manny won't leave Boston. The trade is almost dead anyways: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2120374
Mets will finish last with or without Manny.Well, maybe the Nationals the way they are looking lately.
