BOY! There have been a lot of White Sox haters coming out of the wood work this year. Last year and years before that no one even paid attention to the White Sox. Why so much hate for the Sox this year? Is it because we're in first? Is it because of Ozzie?

The White Sox are like the Taliban, they are anti-America's Team. Nobody loves them no matter what they do. And we always have a negative response when it comes down to our division lead. The response we get is that the AL Central is weak. OK. Maybe so. But Cleveland is only 4 games out of the Wild Card. And why doesn't anybody talk about the NL Central being weak? The Cardinals won that division back in May and they had injuries to multiple key players on that team AND they still have a 9 game lead. And the injuries they had aren't just ordinary players. I'm talking about loosing Rolen, Walker, Isringhausen, Morris, Sanders for significant time.

I've had people talk about how the Sox don't have enough hitting to them playing weak competition to even questioning their pitching staff. Yes. Questioning the staff with the best ERA in the AL.

NOW, we got someone bashing their TV announcers? How crazy is that? I know Hawk ain't Vince Scully but he is not by far the worst announcer in baseball. I know there was a thread on best/worst announcers and Hawk took a beating but has anyone listened to the Cubs broadcast? Len Kasper and Bob Brently are terrible.

Many of us have bashed the WS TV announcers for many years. Those guys are just flatout terrible IMO.

Dice, you've got it all wrong.

More than a year ago, someone pointed out the White Sox commentators and how bad they are and a majority of the people here agreed. The White Sox fans were nowhere to be seen when the first thread was created. You guys didn't even bother defending your commentators.

As time passed, it only cemented what their original opinions of the commentators were.

Stop playing the "We don't get respect" card. Stop acting like several Yankees fans about how your team is "hated". Your team gets way more national coverage than Trevor Hoffman's 400th save. You guys are in first place, but yet you keep asking for respect? You tell people not to hate your team when your fans here are as arrogant as some team's fans in general (I will not state who)?

Bandwagon fans! LOL

I don't know where you live but the only bandwagon fans here are Cubs fans, and they just won't go away. There are hardly any White Sox bandwagon fans let alone regular fans. I do believe there are alot of White Sox haters too (and it's pretty obvious). The only thing I agree with most of you about is the announcers, it's not that they are unprofessional, they are just plain boring. I defend the team, not the media covering the team...

by saying Johnny come lately I meant to the the forums on OS, as in they were no where to be found last year. Now they are winning and they show up in bunches.

I did not ask for respect for the White Sox. I already know they don't get respect. That I really don't care about. But I just can't stand when fans of some of the teams we played gets beat by the White Sox and then they go about it with a 'I'm not impressed' attitude. Who cares if your impressed or not.

Now I'm going to defend Hawk because I just don't think that he's as bad as everybody thinks he is. I think most people are turned off by the home run catch pharse he calls: 'You can put it on the board, Yes!' OK. So it might not be the best but home run catch phrases but these have been around for years and I've heard worse. Even the great Jack Brickhouse had a not so-good home run call with ,'hay-hay.' But that didn't deter him from being one of the best broadcasters of all-time.

As for the article, what he says about that ump is a fair statement. He didn't blatenly disrespect the ump by calling for his job or stating that he was the worst ump in the history of the game. He did state that he had 'no-clue'. And if you feel that's unprofessional by him then that's your opinion.

I never bothered to defend Hawk because he has been bad for a couple of years. But he has improved and IMO is not even close to one of the worst annoucers in baseball. And if people talk about how much of a homer he is then that's not a good indication of a bad announcer. If that's the case over half the announcers in baseball are bad. He, like any other annoucer, defends the team when we do good BUT he bashes the team when we are bad. He'll be the first to tell you that between 2001-2004 the Sox were unwilling to do the little things to win baseball games and that's why The Twins kicked our *** for 4 years. He never sugar-coat the Sox failures by saying we were unlucky or we got bad breaks. We just got beat, PERIOD.

For all the post on Hawk bashing I've probably seen about 2-3 elaborated opinions why Hawk is terrible. Most of the post I noticed on Hawk was just a plain 'He's the worst announer in baseball' and that's it. If you have an opinion just elaborate with a couple of words on why he's so bad. You don't like his voice? He's a homer? Hate that homerun call? Anything. I repect everyone's opinion but just come with something besides 'I just hate him because I hate him'.
