Heres more info about the Griffey to the White Sox trade:

Apperantly its for Casey Rogowski (1B) and Chris Young (OF) and another prospect.

It also states that none of the highest rated farm-hands were included in the deal. So thats a good thing for us White Sox fans.

Casey Rogowski is one of our better prospects but if they don't give up mCcarthy, Sweeney, Anderson, or Fields. Than that would be a good deal for the sox depending on the contract situation. And we could use Griffey now because Everett just got hurt today.

They don't have to unless they are on the 40 man roster.

Rogowski and Young are studs. I've seen them play a few times here in Birmingham. Both of them have futures in the Major Leagues.

You have to think somebody (cough cough Yankees cough) would claim him off waivers to first off fill an outfield void and secondly to stop the White Sox, a potential playoff rival from getting him. Hell, I'd think the Red Sox would claim him too.

It's tough to say. The Yankees shyed (spelling?) away from signing Carlos Beltran in the offseason, and Ken Griffey Jr.'s contract is just as binding. The Red Sox don't need a CF'er right now, but they could move Griffey (or one of their OF'ers) to a different spot in the outfield.

                  Who knows.

I just want Griffey to stay. If he doesn't, that'll make two of my jerseys void since early spring (Drew Bledsoe, Bills; Ken Griffey Jr., Reds).

But the Yankees didn't think they'd be so desperate for help at this point in the season. Basically, the big payroll teams can lay a claim to block any potential trade to one of their competitors with a better record. They just have to be careful not to end up with Jose Canseco, like when the Yankees claimed him and Tampa said "OK, take him."
