wow thats a blast from the past. Question for you all who did the sox get for Matt Karchner when they traded him to the cubs? Answer : Jon Garland poor cubbies my heart goes out the them.

Secondly since i am a White Sox fan i got to defend my boy Iguchi. Now yea his stats don't look like much. He is constantly taking to 2 strikes to have Scotty Pods steal. When he does get to swing the bat he is just going to the right side to move Scott along. If he was capable of batting how he could out of the 2 hole he would be putting up double the numbers. In Japan he was a 30/30 guy so it is not crazy for him to do that. If you saw the Sox game on saturday, Scotty got on. Then stole second with 2 strikes> Iguchi then fouled off pitches until he got a cookie changup from Moyer and flipped in the outfield for a single scoring a running making it 4-2. That my friend is beautiful baseball.

Thirdly, The A's team is basiclly carrying my fantasy team, thank you.

Fourthly, Zach Duke is pitching lights out.

Well if you go by fielding percentage, which you should, because hes played about 20 less games than everyone else, he's 2nd worst in MLB behind Alfonso Soriano. While he has a plus arm (65 out of 80 by Baseball America) his other tools are lacking.

Sounds like he should be moved to a Corner outfield position some time down the road. With his plate discipline, he looks like he could be Garret Anderson type. Guy who can hit .300, but only get OBP at around a .320 clip while putting up pretty good power numbers.

Yeah, and me saying he was a horrific 2nd basmen was a overstatement, but he's certainly below average.

I don't think you'll ever see Garret Anderson's power numbers from Cano. Maybe Marlon Anderson.

I know Yankees fans love him because he's young, but personally I don't see a ceiling of much higher than a Tony Womack type for Cano.

Had the Darin Erstad for Garland and Chris Singleton trade before the 2002 season gone thru we might be saying poor White Sox fans.

The thing I like about him is his power to all fields. A lot of times rookies come up just looking to hit the ball one wya but Cano has hit HR's to all parts of the field this year. If Cano hits 15 HR's this year... I'll be happy. He just looks like a guy that can be a 20-25 HR guy down the line. Especially him being a lefty and the short porch in right... as he gets stronger he'll be able to pull those pitches down the line into the seats.

His OBP is a problem. He is just a free swinger. I'm hoping with time that he'll develop more of an eye at the plate but right now... 10 walks in 81 games doesn't look too good. The good thing is he doesn't strike out an enormous amount of times. 44 SO's through 81 games isn't bad.

Also as a middle infielder... his speed isn't as good as I hoped. Its weird because when he first came up he looked like a guy that runs fast but lately he doesn't seem to be running as fast. Maybe he's a little hurt? I have no clue.

Cam... I could never see Cano as a corner outfielder. He has an above average arm but I just don't think he's fast enough to get to balls in the gap. Plus.. although we don't know what type of hitter he'll be.... .300 BA and 20 HR's is a lot more valuable at 2B than in the OF.

Yea I hope the sox don't resign him after this year, you Angels can have him. If he wins the Cy young he will be commanding a lot of money. I see him as a Carl Pavano type. He will get his big contract and suck ***. Also the sox do not give pitchers deals longer then 3 years. They do not believe in investing in a pitcher for that long. I can promise you Garland will be looking for a big deal. the guy i hope they don't lose after next year is Buehrle. He is our horse. Erstad would fit nicely now in the sox plan though.

It's not more valuable when the guy at 2nd is so below average that he's actually costing your team runs. Not saying Cano is doing that, but he may in the future.
