Cliff Flyod, no questions asked. This a complete no brainer, I'm not just saying cause I'm a Mets fan, I saying this cause cliff has just been an MVP for the METS this year, and he has had a great season up to this point. He should win it no doubt. Sexson and Griffy should not win ut at all, there teams stink and there Play hasn't carried there team at all, Cliff has carried the Mets most of this season.

Re: Who should be the Comeback Player of the Year?
Im not quite sure the exact criteria for the award (like MVP, if you still help your team out the most, or if its the best season of the nominees, or whatever) but everyone is ignoring Todd Jones here. He has a 1.1 ERA, 29 saves (19 straight and 31 total situations), and has saved the season in which the bullpen was devestated by injuries to the expected closer Mota, setup man Alfonseca, and middle relievers Nate Bump and Jim Mecir.
He had played for 7 teams in 4 years before coming to florida, with 5 saves since leaving the Tigers in 2001. Also before this year, he saved 16 games in his last 38 attempts, with an ERA around 5.00.Comment

Originally posted by keRplunKSame with Zito, the only thing he's coming back from is a bad season.
Sexson and Griffey are both coming back from significant injuries.
Of note, Griffey pretty much locked this award up after tonight. .300/35-40 HRs/100+ RBI after the hardships he has had make him a no-brainer.Comment

Re: Who should be the Comeback Player of the Year?
Originally posted by SquintThat point is completely moot. Many past winners of the CPOTY Award are simply "coming back from" a bad season. This year is no different than many others.Comment

Re: Who should be the Comeback Player of the Year?
Originally posted by keRplunKIn my opinion it isn't completely moot. I'm not saying they shouldn't "qualify" for the award, but it'd be plain stupid to give it someone who simply sucked over someone who has worked through a ton of injuries....they have alot more to "comeback" from.Comment
