Any early rumours out there?
Do you think Lloyd will get another job in the Majors?Comment

That sounds like a pipedream from pittsburgh fans. If Leyland got burned out after a year in Colorado then he's gonna be begging to leave town by the All Star Break.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I think I read it in SI. Tom Verducci must of been out of ideas when he wrote that one.Comment

Re: Bye Bye Lloyd....
A's manager Ken Macha has been tossed around. He's from Pittsburgh and stated he'd like to move back.
To be honest, I don't want Leyland. He ditched the Pirates before. I'm sure he wants to go to a team with a legit shot at the WS anyway.Comment

Re: Bye Bye Lloyd....
Macha would be out of his mind to want to manage in Pittsburgh. I think they should just promote the AAA manager since a lot of kids will be coming up sooner or later.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Bye Bye Lloyd....
AAA Manager used to be the 3B coach (Trent Jewitt). He wasn't very good in that role. Current bench coach is a clone of Lloyd McClendon so I'm sure they won't like that and the rumors are that they're cleaning house. Whole staff will be gone.
Macha has actually expressed interest in the Pirates job in the past. He lives 10 minutes from PNC Park and has stated he wants to be with his family more.
If Macha can deal with the growing pains next year, the Pirates have a decent foundation for the following year. Add in a bat or 2 and we might have something. One things for sure, this team isn't as bad as it's playing right now. It's not good, but it's not this bad. Too many fundamental mistakes that I blame of the coaching staff.Comment

It's about time IMO as well. Honestly I'm not one to blame the manager or coaches, but I've never seen such terrible fundamentals from a pro baseball team. Just stuff Little Leaguers do correctly. Swinging at the first pitch and popping it up after the pitcher walked the bases loaded, making the 1st out at 3rd when your best hitter is up next, not being able to hit the ball to the right side of the infield with a runner on 2B etc...Comment
