Right now, no one. The Devil Rays have a nice problem with having too many good young position players (if only they could say that about their pitching). This what i expect to see with Rays next season: Crawford in LF, Gathright in CF, Baldelli in RF and Gomes as the DH with some occasional time at a corner OF spot. They could try moving Upton to either 3B or 2B but if he can't handle SS then i'm not sure how well he would do at one of those positions. I have never seen Delmon Young play the field but if he is anything like his brother then maybe they should try him at 1B, that would open the door for him to make it to the big leagues a little sooner.

Peter Gammons touched on this subject on BBTN last night and said he believes the Devil Rays will have to trade Rocco Baldelli after next season, so that could mean barring injury's that Young may not really get his chance to play every day until the 2007 season.

from what I can tell the kid just wants to play, why waste all this time in the minors when he should have been called up, the D-rays suck absolutley suck he doesn't need to start, but damn get the kid a few AB's ain't like the team is doing **** anyway, not like they have a chance of winning there divsion any time soon.

They can DH or play in the field. It's not like the Devil Rays are in the midst of a playoff race.

How many 19 year old guys can step into the majors and hit for that good of an average? His average was over .300 for awhile, until it fell at the later portion of the season. And he had a pretty good OBP. And since you seem to think the Devil Rays are playing important games, then I assume you would agree that they can bring him in to hit against lefties, since he batted .410 against them.

I acknowledged it when I said,"Thanks for making my point for me, the reason they should call him up is to get him more experience.".

The point about about the Devil Rays bringing up players too early is correct. But you used two examples where they weren't brought up too early. A good example of them bringing up a player too early would be Dewon Brazelton. An example of the Rays bringing up players at the right time would be Baldelli and Crawford.
