Hey all, I'm doing a research paper for one of my classes. I need to get a bunch of names of Yankees that were either terrible before they became Yankees and superstars when they joined the team, or were superstars before joining the Yankees and were terrible when they were signed. Thanks a lot!

I disagree about Wells. He had a so-so career up to that time. He was always hyped as a guy who could be great. Admittedly he was hit and miss but he was a pretty good pitcher at the time he came to NYY. I disagree with Knoblauch and Justice. And Gooden was way over the hill by the time he got to the Yankees. Brosius had his best season with the A's, two years before he came to the Yankees.Comment

Ruben Sierra was not very good in his first stint with the Yankees (July '95-July '96) but has done pretty well in his second stint. Mike Stanley was nothing more than a backup Catcher before having 4 strong seasons as a Yankee.Comment
