        John Mabry is very slow.

Exactly. Everyone touts us as having the greatest lineup in the game, but we just can't get it done when we need to. The umpire was a joke, but he didn't cost us the game.

Edmonds is a joke. The only time he gets it done is in the middle of July when we don't really need it. The guy just isn't clutch.

Pujols is the only one getting it done for us and most of the time he leads of the inning because Edmonds strikesout to end the inning.

Everyone I know kept telling me how we would roll over the Astros. I just laughed in their faces. I really hope we can come back from this and win the series, but I just don't see it happening. Because next year we are in serious trouble.

Hats off to the Astros. They have pitched very well. Their bullpen has really suprised me. They have just out played the Cards.

Sadly, only Sanders could do any serious damage during the postseason. And I thought the Cardinals have more in them to bounce back after getting swept last season..

                Re: Astros vs. Cardinals (NLCS)

Yeah, I'm not ticked because we're losing, the Astros are out pitching us and hitting just as much so they deserve to win the games they've won, its just frusterating to have our lineup consistently not getting it done when we need it most, especially when Suppan only gives up 1 run we should be able to put up more than 1 run also, just somethin with this team and pressure.

This offseason will be interesting, Sanders, Grudz, Nunez, Morris, a lot of the bullpen and some of the bench are FAs so who will be back and who won't will be interesting to see, Walker will likely retire.

This team could look quite a bit different next season, our rotation is pretty much set for next year, Carp, Mulder, Sup, Marquis, Anthony Reyes. The lineup will still have Pujols, Molina, Eck, Rolen, and Edmonds. But other than that who knows how things will shake out.

If we win tomorrow I like our odds once we get them back into a real ballpark, no more of those 320' pop flys for HRs. But we need our bats to wake up and give Carp some support tomorrow. Get them back to STL and we got a chance.

Also our fans need to be a lot louder in games 6 and 7 than we were in the first games in STL, we don't need a roof for an advantage in St. Louis, I'll be in attendance game 6 (if we win tomorrow that is) and I'm leaving my voice in St. Louis, MO.

                      Re: Astros vs. Cardinals (NLCS)

Cards seem to be keeping pretty loose about it, winning 3 straight against the big 3 is going to be extremely tough (we did it earlier this year though so not impossible), plus a 3-1 lead isn't beyond reach (the Red Sox showed us that last year, if you don't like that example how about the 2003 Marlins, or when we gave a 3-1 lead up in 1996).

Heres a quote from Pujols about the situation:

Pujols answered questions calmly, politely, with a smile. "How do we stay relaxed?" he mused. "We show you tomorrow."
Hopefully the Cards wake the bats up tomorrow, bring it back to STL and lets show the Stros a roof isn't needed to create a home field advantage.

                      LETS GO CARDS!!!

Hey CardsFan. Didn;t know if you heard but the Cards picked up Ankiels contract and he is now on the 40 man roster. From all that I have heard it really seems teh orgnazation is looking for him to make the big league club next spring.

Why is nobody talking about the double play to end the game. I slowed it down and watched it and he was safe. Tie goes to the runner and it was at least a tie. I thought it was odd that the announcers, or anyone has mentioned that. Also something needs to be done about these umpires. Its getting rediculous how much of a chip they have on their shoulders. Especially that jackarse last night. Tossing two guys out of a NLCS game is crazy. However don't expect that coward of a commisioner to step in.

Actually tie goes to the runner is not an actual rule. It's up the the umpires discretion.

Yeah I saw that, hes been hitting pretty well in the minors as an OF since hes been swinging a bat full time and he'll have a chance to make the team as a reserve out of Spring Training and with us losing pretty much our whole OF to FA he has a pretty good chance of making the team.
