and god bless Busch stadium and the StL Cardinals...one of the flagship franchises of MLB and some of the classiest people in baseball. cant wait to see the new stadium!!!

Actually, it won't be fun at all. They're not going to implode it. They've decided that it's too risky since it sits so close to the new one.

They're going to use a wrecking ball and it's supposed to take like a month.

Kinda anticlimactic, just like this series.

Congratulations Astros fans, your team played hard and didn't let that Pujols HR keep them down, good luck in the World Series.

I was glad we got a game 6 in STL, I had tickets to tonights game and it was great, while we didn't play very well (in large part to Oswalts pitching) it was great to be there one last time, lots better than it would've ended had we just lost game 5 in HOU.

The atmosphere there was great, everyone was there to see the Cards but also for their chance to say their goodbyes to Busch, tag the stadium with a phrase and sign it when you left. Of course you also had the people looting once the game was over, prying signs off walls and stuff but had to figure that would happen.

Just talkin baseball and about the memories from Busch with the people around you was great.

Got to chant for Larry one last time to which was nice, too bad he never got his ring

I remember last year when Wilham (old dorms) were going to be taken down to make room for suites. Everybody wanted to see the buildings implode but it was too close to other buildings, so they used a wrecking ball. When they started it the first time I heard a lot of "That's it?" It took 6 weeks to take down two 12 story dorms and the mezz.

I didn't read throught the whole thread, but I want to make sure Roy O gets his due. What a phenominal overpowering pitching performance. He probably could have thrown fastballs all night. In fact he almost did. He might have pitched 5 curves the whole night and mixed in his slider some. That was just a dominant performance by him.

Congrats to the Cardinals fans on a great team and classy organization. The last two years have been a slugfest between these two teams. Turning into a good rivalry, not Cubs or Cardinals yet, but perhaps one day.

I am in shock that the Astros are going to a World Series. I have lived through the '80 and '86 heartbreaks and the '90's choke years. Astros felt cursed and I wasn't sure if they were going to be able to recover. I don't doubt them anymore.

Roy O. is a post season legend as far as I'm concerned. I just love how the Astros left that Pujols homer where it belongs, back in Houston. In past years that would have absolutely destroyed this team. Roy is just cold blooded. I know the Stros are once again outmanned and outgunned coming into the World Series facing the White Sox, but I still believe. I think they'll win, but it won't be easy.

By the way, the Astros are D-U-N. Toast. Stick a fork in them. Complete dead men walking. It will be Cardinals vs. White Sox in the World Series. Nobody comes back from that kind of Level 2 stomach punch loss. And make no mistake about it, for Astros fans, this is the equivalent of somebody strapping you to a gurney while they repeatedly stomp you in the testicles with a steel toed boot. OUCH!

If the Astros win, I'll be shocked.
