I'm not sure where the whole "if the yankees can't afford him...." arguement comes in to place. He's not going to be traded there. They have nothing to offer for him, besides the obvious fact that these two teams will never deal with one another.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Red Sox and Angels could involve the Diamondbacks in Manny Ramirez trade talks, with Troy Glaus likely going to Boston in such a scenario.
The Glaus-to-Boston rumors have become popular. He could potentially provide more production at first base than Paul Konerko and he wouldn't be owed as much over the next three years. If Ramirez goes to Anaheim, the Angels would likely give up Darin Erstad and prospects. They could also try to find a way to involve Steve Finley. Nov. 2 - 4:23 am et

The rumors I'm hearing has Manny going to Anaheim with Glaus, Erstad and prospects coming to Boston in a 3 team deal.

I think its as close to fair value as you're going to get without paying some of Manny's salary. Glaus is scheduled to make $11 mil/yr through 2008 and Erstad is making $8.5mil next year. This would be a much better deal than what they were going to trade Manny for mid-season.

Ervin Santana is not coming to Boston.

What is with all of these over-paid, cry baby superstars, what ever happened to being humble like Mike Piazza used to be, or John Elway, there are so many others, Tony Gwynn comes to mind, play baseball and shut up, if you agreed upon a contract then stick to it. Im a mets fan and there are rumors flying around saying the mets want manny, personally i will lose a lot of respect for mets, the only team ive ever known. we dont need a headache like manny.
