1) The A's will never trade Zito for Walker and a few prospects.

It's not for Walker, it's a three-way where the A's would end up with Soriano and prospects.

2) The Cubs will NEVER trade their highly regarded prospect, Felix Pie.

Where did I ever say they are gonna trade Pie? There are other prospects in the system teams want.

3) What makes you think that Mench will be any different than Burnitz? Mench might get on base a little bit more, but they're pretty much the same type of player.

Mench has the capability of being a .300 hitter and he will hit more than 25 HR's.

The numbers are similar, but Mench is up & coming and Burnitz is at the end of his career.

3) Pierre? Where are the rumors that the Cubs are going to land Pierre? Pierre is looking to go to the Yankees cause they're willing to give up major pitching prospects.

The Cubs were believed to be one of many teams talking to the Florida Marlins about Juan Pierre, who could lead off and play center field. Pierre batted .276 and stole 57 bases this season with a .326 on-base percentage.

They've got other guys in the system (Brownlie, Koroka, Soto, Nolasco) that Florida could be interested in since Florida is stockpiling on young talent. Heck, don't even rule out the Cubs trading Patterson.

Sorry but I really dont see any of this happening, and like I stated before... LOL

And even adding those players wont help the team as much as you would like. They give up Walker, Felix Pie, Patterson, Wood, and a few other prospects. They get in return a speedster, a lefty in the rotation, and a mediocre RF.

Who's your 2B? Who's your SS?

No defense up the middle, and please dont tell me Neifi Perez and Hairston is the answer.

Bleh, I dont want Zito. The Cubs need speed and defense not Zito...unless they can unload Kerry Wood in the process.

Fair enough. Im just not enamored with Zito. The Cubs have a lineup that resembles a beer league softball team....they need speed and defense especially if they think their starting pitching is the strength of the team. People say Hendry knows what hes doing but the lineup last year doesnt really support that observation.
