Now comes the rebulding. The Marlins are going to have to sign (or trade for) some players to fill the many holes on their roster. Gathright in CF is a start, they will have to decide if Miguel Cabrera is going to play LF or 3B which means acquiring someone to play one of those positions. They need to sign a middle Infielder, Robert Andino will play either 2B or SS and Hanley Ramirez is not ready to play in the Majors. They will probably have to sign at least one starter and they have nothing that resembles a bullpen.

So far the only players we know that will be with the Marlins are:

      Starters
      C Josh Willingham
      1B Mike Jacobs
      2B/SS Robert Andino
      3B/LF Miguel Cabrera
      RF Jeremy Hermida

      Bench
      C Matt Treanor
      IF Alfredo Amezaga
      IF Lenny Harris
      OF Chris Aguila

      Rotation
      Dontrelle Willis
      Jason Vargas
      Sergio Mitre
      Brian Moehler?

      Bullpen
      Travis Bowyer
      Ron Villone

and Villone may still be traded.

Wow what a solid core they have heh. Anyways I have been thinking you guys need some old over the hill guys, why don't you trade Cabrera to Cleveland for Casey Blake and Matt Miller, well we will even throw in Josh Bard, what do you say??

My thoughts exactly. Which is why yes it kinda sucks that the Marlins are doing this, but I'll take 2 WS in 10 yrs. Even if it means sucking for a few. As for the 2003 team we didn't buy that title. We won it with smart ball players, and good pitching. 97 we did buy that one though. You only have a 3-5 yr window thanks to FA anyway. Our window was closing faster, because of a potential move thanks to a new ballpark not being built.
