    Projected Standings for next season

I base my predictions on Manny, Zito, and Tejeda not being dealt.

    AL East

    1. Yankees
    2. Red Sox
    3. Blue Jays
    4. Orioles
    5. Devil Rays

    AL Central

    1. Twins
    2. Indians
    3. White Sox
    4. Tigers
    5. Royals

    AL West

    1. A's
    2. Angels
    3. Rangers
    4. Mariners

    NL East

    1. Braves
    2. Mets
    3. Phillies
    4. Nationals
    5. Marlins

    NL Central

    1. Cardinals
    2. Brewers
    3. Cubs
    4. Astros
    5. Pirates
    6. Reds

    NL West

    1. Giants
    2. Dodgers
    3. Diamondbacks
    4. Padres
    5. Rockies

    - One team I don't hear anybody talking about is the Brewers. I don't think they're going to make the playoffs but I think this team has a chance at 88 wins next season. The rotation looks good and I'm excitied about their young position players.

Yeah I don't quite get that either. Sox are favorites in the Central if you ask me.

I fell like everything went right for the White Sox last season and it's not going to happen next year. I think Garland and Contreras will drop off next season. I think Thome will be decent but nowhere near what he was 2 seasons ago.

Not to worry. They'll still win the division. The Cubs will be the Cubs and finish 2nd and out of the wildcard. The team that could make some noise, not enough to finish higher than 3rd but still, is the Pirates. I know that's kind of funny but look at their young pitching. With Sean Casey added as a clubhouse leader, there is a new chemistry factor involved. I like the Brewers too but I don't think they'll finish higher than the Pirates. The pick of the Reds in last is dead-on.

I will tell you all now, keep your eyes on the Reds activities this offseason and during the 2006 season. Expect some major changes in the front office and field personnel. The GM's contract is up after this year and the COO will probably get let go as well. These new owners had ties to the Cards as minority owners. They want to try and build the same thing in Cincinnati that's in St. Louis.

              NYY 94-68 - X
              TOR 88-74
              BAL 77-85
              TBD 70-92

              AL Central
              CWS 95-67 - Y
              CLE 88-74
              MIN 81-81
              KC 77-85
              DET 66-96

              AL West
              LAA 94-68 - Y
              OAK 84-78
              SEA 78-84
              TEX 70-92

              NL East
              NYM 92-70 - Y
              ATL 87-75 - X
              WAS 80-82
              PHI 78-84
              FLA 63-99

              NL Central
              STL 94-68 - Y
              MIL 85-77
              CHC 83-79
              HOU 82-80
              CIN 74-88
              PIT 70-92

              NL West
              LAD 85-77 - Y
              SDG 80-82
              SFG 80-82
              ARI 73-89
              COL 63-99

I won't predict any 100 winners and losers, but you kinda have an idea of who I think has the best shot at those numbers. The AL East looks like a tough division IMO, it might probably the strongest one next season. All the other division in the AL are pretty competitive. In the NL, it was hard for me to pick out any clear cut division winners. The NL East won't be as competitive as it was last season (last season was unbelievable, at one point all the teams were above .500). The NL Central, the Cards look a little weaker, but they're still my favorites to win that division. The NL West is pretty much up for grabs. At this point if the teams were to stay healthy, the Dodgers woud win it simply because they have the best talent. Just like last season it'll fall on the shoulders on who can stay the least injured as the season progresses in the NL West.

85 wins is what I expect the division winner to have in the NL West.

I don't know, they seem to be the anti-Red Sox. They won it all, finally, and proceeded to stay active in trying to make their team better. The Bo Sox won it, then just seemed content to let key players walk and make deals for boardline players and put too much faith in certain players who are best as role players. I agree that everythign fell in the right place last year for the White Sox, but they were on top all year AND breezed through the playoffs. It was a perfect year for them, but I don't think a non-perfect year is enough to have them go from the best team in the AL to missing the playoffs.

I can see Cleveland jumping up and taking the division, but I still think the White Sox are going to make the Wild Card if that is the case. The AL East is screaming to be a 1 playoff team division. Boston is going downhill and I don't think Toronto did enough to make the playoffs. And I just dont' trust any team in the West(in either league).

I truly beleive the Mets will overcome the braves this year, if the braves pull it out I WILL cry that there is some type of curse where they just keep winning the division.

LOL well I picked the date out of thin air but really I think predictions like that are better suited closer to spring training.

I don't even know if I'm going to post mine. Reason? Everybody here and on ESPN completely disregarded the White Sox in 2005, and went straight to the Indians and Twins... even the Tigers! Sorry, but I thought White Sox all along. GASP! Low and behold? World Series Champs!

People were also all about the Nationals for a time when they were on a streak. I calmly said to myself: "They'll cool; the Braves are going again." Everybody doubted that... and it happened.

But... I'm a nice guy. Here are my projections:

                            NL West:
                            Giants
                            Dodgers
                            Padres
                            Diamondbacks
                            Rockies

                            NL Central:
                            Cardinals
                            Reds (I know... shut up)
                            Astros
                            Cubs
                            Pirates
                            Brewers

                            White Sox
                            Indians
                            Royals
